Feral Fighting: Advanced Widow Maker Fighting Techniques (Widow Maker Program Series)

Sammy Franco's Widow Maker program provided me with some really revolutionary, and cutting edge, self defense skills. These are skills that I have actually had the unfortunate opportunity of putting to use in the real world and they really work. This follow up guide in "Feral Fighting" contains even more techniques that have allowed me to take my skills to another level. No one wants to be put in a situation where they have to make use of "scorching" or "sharking", but these are vital skills to know for self-defense and, sometimes, survival. The explanations and multiple images provided for each technique were perfect and made me feel as if attending one of Franco's live training classes. Great stuff.

As with book one of this three part series, Feral Fighting is a quality production from Mr. Franco. This volume adds many practical, useful tools. I do find it interesting that in presenting "advanced" anchoring and razing skills Mr. Franco violates three of his own stipulated dangerous action to be avoided during use of the Widow Maker approach: these being anchoring using an opponent's clothing, using the legs for offense and avoiding ground engagement. Despite these seeming obvious tactical contradictions, Feral Fighting offers readers several technical enhancements and options to the established enter, anchor and raze formula of the Widow Maker system.

This is a great resource for people wanting to learn a little more to defend themselves in a physical altercation, especially from an enraged, primal attacker. One of the techniques appears to be Franco's version of Blauer's Spear technique (Wedge, Shield, etc as named by other practitioners), but Franco breaks his down very well and explains how it flows well in addition to any other training you've taken, be it boxing, BJJ, Jeet Kune Do, etc. If you've gotten Franco's previous Widow Maker program, you'll see how this complements his 'webbing/razing' techniques and methodology when it comes to 'getting inside' to handling the problem close-quarters. Take what's useful to you from Feral Fighting and you'll most likely improve your RBSD game-plan, especially with 'defensive' entries into in-fighting.

This is a great guide if you're looking into self-defense. However, it was mentioned in the book, but I do encourage people to study the author's Widow Maker program. This book does take you into a more advanced level, but if you've done some martial arts and just want to jump right into it, the book is easy to understand. There are a lot of great and new techniques that you'll definitely want to learn under your belt. Hopefully none of the stuff in this book is put to use in real world situations.

Great book, very practical and straight to the point. After years of studying other arts I can truly say that Sammy Franco has some of the best material to add to your defense style.

A continuation of previous material. What these series of books demonstrate is there's always room for improvement. Fantastic work.

These books do complement with the videos very well. If you have an open mind and are willing to analyze and study this material, I know you will enjoy it as I have. This is not for the person who droughts everything and thinks that what they have been doing is the only way. If you want to take your skills to another level, then this material should be considered.

The widow maker programme is pretty good & worth a read, this book goes some off the same techniques & tactics, I wouldn't consider this book or these techniques to be advanced. The scorching technique requires the application of something similar to pepper spray with the intention off attacking a would be attackers eyes. A bit unrealistic in a real self defence situation. I was disappointed by this book.
