Avoid like the plague.
Two out of two have failed for me. One of them got replaced, but the other one failed just after the 30-day window for returning it. Can you imagine? 30 days is all we're supposed to expect a hard drive to last? Unbelievable. That's 100 percent failure rate on the original orders. We'll see how long the replacement one lasts.

I bought 3 of these to replace smaller drives in a Drobo 5D. The first one failed almost immediately, so I returned it and bought a different make of the same size. Soon after that the second drive started working intermittently resulting in the Drobo reporting the bay in which it was mounted to be empty, and data protection being triggered. This is currently a big worry, I am returning both the remaining units but need to successfully get the data on them backed up before they fail. For many years I have used smaller Seagate hard drives in 4 Drobos without any failures so this has come as a shock.

bought this for my new Asustor 5004T NAS drive as I'm running out of space, have been using WD Red's in the past, so this drive runs cooler, quieter and appears to be a bit faster.

I had this hard drive (actually two of them) for about two weeks now. Not much but I would like to point out one thing. You know these 3 thread holes all 3.5" hard drives have? Well, this one has only two of them; the middle one is missing. Keep it in mind when choosing this hard drive as you won't be able to properly screw it inside most computer cases. Other than that, I haven't noticed any issues. I encrypted this hard drive on day 1 so I can't really comment on its performance. Attached photo does not belong to me, but this is what the screw holes look like on it.
