The Legend of Heroes: Characters

If you have any doubts about purchasing this book, it is absolutely worth it. It's nice and large and works wonderfully as a display piece. Not to mention all the pages of beautiful art of all our favorite characters. 100% recommend.

Great art book full of nice illustrations. This series is very underrated, and I wish more people would buy the games. The same goes for the artbooks lol. I feel like this book will get overlooked by a lot of people, which is a shame, because there's a lot to like about it.

This book compiles the concept art for Trails in the Sky 1-3, and the as of yet Japanese-exclusive Trails to Zero and Trails to Azure. Each of the main characters gets roughly 3-4 pages to themselves, with character art, along with the illustrations used in the opening movies and design notes. It gets fairly informative, especially with Estelle and Joshua's Second Chapter costume changes, going into the personal reasons for their new looks. If I were to list the negatives, the only things that come to mind are that it spoils a bit too much without reason, and that there weren't enough design notes. I would've really liked to hear the reasons for Schera's new costume in Trails in the Sky the 3rd. But those are rather minor gripes.

It's really big, and heavy book. Definitely more of a coffee table book than something you keep on your bookshelf. It mostly covers character designs. I wish it covered the design of the levels/world more as that's my favorite part of the first 5 games

There are two artbooks for The Legend of Heroes and this one is focused on the characters. If you also get the other book The Legend of Heroes: The Illustrations , you can put the two book covers side by side to form a larger combined illustration. Pretty cool. The original is actually the Japanese artbook 英雄伝説 空・零・碧の軌跡 THE キャラクターアートブック that was released in 2012. This English edition is translated by Udon. The games featured are The Legend of Heroes VI which consist three Trails in the Sky games, and The Legend of Heroes VII which consist Trails of Blue and Trails of Zero. These games are from 2004 to 2011. It's a thick 272-page paperback artbook that's filled from cover to cover with character art. A galore of beautiful character art essentially. I like the characters from VII better because of the anime-like colouring. There are some captions but too brief. You won't learn much about the characters if you haven't played the games before. Strangely, this book received mixed reviews on Amazon Japan. One complained about the low resolution artworks on pages 189-191, and they are still in this book. Personally, I think it's a good book and fans of the game should check it out. Compared to The Legend of Heroes: The Illustrations, that would be a better book because it has characters and setting. I like it because since I like to draw, this will be a good collection with my other art books.

Excelente libro para los fans de esta excelente serie

Die Illustartionen gefallen mir sehr gut aber die Übersetzung und Informationen sind teilweise schlecht und falsch wieder gegeben. Aber trotz dessen ein sehr schöner artikel.

The book is great quality with heavy duty paper and bright illustrations. It came in plastic wrap as well which was nice as I have had many books purchased through amazon show up with dirt and oil on them so it was nice to have that extra layer of protection. I just finished playing the Trails in the Sky series (on Steam) and am about to start Trails of Zero. I really enjoyed the characters and wanted to have this book as a memory of them all. Looking forward to Trails of Zero and Azure.
