Review: Great little time switch - Easy to install timer which I use to control a secondary return pump on a hot water system. The timer fits on a standard back box and just screws right in. You will need a battery for the timer which is purchased separately. Manual isn’t fantastic and you need to use some common sense to install but it does describe the programming of the timer well. I liked the multiple programming options. I believe it is possible to programme 7 on/off periods in a day which is useful. All in a cost effective time switch which I am pleased with.

The back up battery (so the settings are retained in a power cut) does not come with the unit. Overall, did exactly what I needed at a good price

**Q: does this have an audible alarm when the timer has ended ?**
A: No, there is no audible alarm

**Q: So would this work with a 3kw elebathroom towel rail Current on/off switch is located ouside bathrron door  - would this sit alongside and control it?**
A: It is rated at 16 amps, so is compatible with 3KW.
It needs to be mounted in a pattress box.
This can be recessed into the wall or surface mounted.
It could, however, replace the switch and use it's pattress.
It could then be programmed by the timer with manual on/off option at any time.

**Q: Is this suitable for outdoor fixing? what is ip rating? want to put on outside garage wall**
A: IP rating is a score relating to how protective the casing of an electrical product is. In this case waterproofing. Basically the higher the number the more protected - try Googling ip54 and you will find some charts that explain more.

**Q: Can this be installed in replacement of a normal light switch for a bedroom?**
A: Not easily. This is a 3 wire device requiring a live and neutral feed and a wire out to the load. Usually lighting circuits have just two wires to the switch which simply "breaks" the live feed to the light.
