This leash was not built for a Tegu, and would have been better suited for a bearded dragon. The leash is pathetically short; I bought a dog leash at the dollar store and attached the two together and now it's decent.The sizing on these is really messed up; the packaging has some sizing info on it that isn't available here on Amazon, but unfortunately I threw it out and can't post it. However, I don't think it was very accurate anyway. I will say that the medium fits my Blue Tongue Skink, who is a sub-adult and about 20 inches long. After looking at several different options, this seemed to be the least difficult to put on & easiest to use. A taller person may want to purchase additional rope of some kind, as this was perfect length for me, and I'm petite. I'm considering modifying it slightly, as you can see that it comes off one side instead of straight off the top. It's easy enough to do, by making the rope a triangle and tying it where the cinch bead is with something like a twist tie. Then my beardie would be walking without being pulled from one side. For what it is, it's made as well as it can be.
