Fjallraven Ulv¿ Hip Pack Medium

Best lumbar pack I’ve ever had (and I’ve owned several)! This one is durable and very comfortable to wear. It works nicely as a cross-body, but I generally wear it as a fanny pack. The medium size holds my iPhone 16e, disinfectant wipes, wallet, pen, keys, and a snack, with room left over. It’s more spacious than I expected. There is a mesh divider inside to help with organization, and a separate zippered compartment against your body, perfect for hiding money and ID. Both zippers are YKK and work smoothly. When the bag is not filled, it has this way of flattening nicely against you, so it always looks good. It is important to me that the strap on my cross-body / fanny pack bag have a tough plastic snap closure. Those popular magnet closures aren’t a wise choice because the bag can be snatched off of you with one quick yank from a thief. This is very durable and so much more secure. Regarding the color, I normally choose quiet neutrals, so I really stepped out of my norm by taking a chance on the Red Gold color. So glad I did! LOVE IT!!! It’s a beautiful butterscotch color which adds a little pop of color to my outfits. My one and only complaint: The white and red tag in the middle front of the bag is unattractive, so I removed mine with a seam ripper. Yes, the tag is reflective, but too much of an eyesore for my taste. A small round faux-leather tag with Fjallraven’s famous fox logo would be so much more attractive and classy. But the bag still earns a 5-star rating, because in every other respect it’s my absolute favorite.

This is one of my favorite bags I've ever owned and I get tons of compliments when I wear it, even from random strangers in public. For starters, it's very comfortable to wear and it's made from a thick, nylon fabric that is durable and wipes clean easily. Secondly, it's a great size. I can fit so much into it, without it becoming overly bulky. Typically, this is what I carry in this bag: a slim, credit card size wallet; my sunglasses in a slim case; a travel pack of disinfectant wipes; a travel pack of kleenex; a travel size bottle of hand lotion; a powder compact; a small box of floss picks; eye drops; a travel size bottle of hand sanitizer; and a couple tubes of lip balm. All of that fits with no issue! I'd recommend this very cool and functional bag to anyone who likes to wear the fanny pack style of sling bags!

This medium-sized bag is made from quality materials, and its look and feel are exactly what I was in the market for. I just wish the strap was more substantial, like the ones on Manhattan Portage bags. This one makes me feel like I have a purse swinging off of my shoulder.

My son loves it. Uses it while riding his bike around town. Carries his phone, snacks, etc in it. Even uses it while skiing.

Good size for basics (very small notebook, pen, pill box, wallet, keys, headphones, lip balm, and a little snack). I love how easy it is to use hands free. I can use it in urban environments as a sling purse, but it also works well as a hip pack for hiking. The Fjällräven logo is reflective, which is a nice touch. I love the red gold color. It’s super adjustable, and my large chest fits easily. I do wish it had an extra internal pocket. It would help my headphones safe from a hand sanitizer explosion as well as make it a bit easier to organize. My biggest gripe is that the secure pocket technically fits my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but just barely. If you have a larger case, it might be a problem. Although if you are wearing Fjällräven trousers or a coat, this is not a problem because they have all the pockets. If you want more of a longer hiking daytrip or are taking day trips from a campsite, I prefer its big brother, which not only has more room for necessities but also straps on the bottom for a water bottle or jacket. But 90% of the time, if I’m not being fancy, this is my favorite.
