Usually covers fit snug and you can easily carry it with one hand without worrying. This cover, even though it is on properly, will flip open if you handle it by the edge of the lid. Several times the lid/cover flipped up and the whole thing, container, cover and lettuce shot out of my hand onto the kitchen floor. I now use both hands and I actively hold it to secure the cover. The container works great. I love how Iit collects more moisture into the bottom and I can empty it as wanted. The vegetable don't get all wet, nasty or brown as quickly as they do in the original container/bag. It stays fresh for a long time. Usually Romain leaves are tough to keep crispy for a week (for work) and sometimes I won't get my salad because it got brown or soft. It fits 2 heads of romaine lettuce. (I use a lettuce spinner) nicely. This change the way I store vegetables in my refrigerator. Now I always use these types of containers for berries and loose vegetables. Strawberries, blueberries and lettuce seem to benefit the most. This is a rectangle container with a non locking lid that has a compartment for a moisture eliminating packet. The middle of the lid has a chart for ventilation. Theres a slider to add more air circulation or to close it off. I bought my mom one after using mine for a while.
