Not quite as comfortable as my other Merrell shoes
Not quite as comfortable as my other Merrell shoes, but since it's a winter boot that's to be expected. They took a few days to break in - when I first got them I was concerned that I would not be able to wear them with the zippers all the way up but they are much less stiff now. They are warm and waterproof and easy to get on and off, so they work great for me. I bought them primarily to wear outside, I keep a spare pair of shoes at my desk at work and change out of them during the workday. I think they could have been much more comfortable with an elastic panel or a side zipper -- the zipper assembly is fairly uncomfortable when sitting. But I bought them for walking and shoveling outdoors, where the zipper is not noticeable, so it's not a huge negative.

Happily Surprised!
I've had these boots a couple weeks. I wanted something easy to put on and take off. I was reluctant to buy something with a front zipper, until I read the other reviews. I've had these boots a few weeks now, and worn them while on a weekend campout in 10°F weather. They are very warm and definitely dry. So warm indeed that you cannot wear them inside for too long without your feet sweating. The traction on them is actually much better than I expected for a half rubber / half leather boot... The lugs on the bottom are similar to an athletic shoe or day hiking boot. I put some key rings on the zipper-pulls so that I can zip them up more easily. You have to stick your finger on the tongue while zipping and unzipping them to ensure the tongue fabric does not get caught in the zipper, but this is easy to do. I would say the other reviewers' complaints about the zipper can be mostly fixed by adding the key rings. Overall I am very satisfied with these boots.

Great boot for decent snow
Pros: Good quality, grip, and easy to zip up and down.Cons: The rubber on the toes does not insulate as well as the rest of the boot.Great boot from Merrell but not the best boot for extra cold days or days where there is snow on the ground. The toes get cold the fastest and stay cold. For some reason, the rubber doesn't insulate as well as the leather or just feels colder. I have other snow boots which don't have the rubber and same thinsulate and my toes don't get cold.I still love these boots and wear them if I know I will not be spending a great deal of time outside.

ordered a size 11 and they fit perfect. No problem getting my feet in the boots
The boots I received fit true to size. I wear a size 11, ordered a size 11 and they fit perfect. No problem getting my feet in the boots, they slide in easily, zip up quick and you're gone. No problems with the zippers, they seem pretty sturdy. Like a heavy duty zipper. The first thing I noticed is they are pretty comfortable, good arch support and a fairly flexible sole, they will bend at the ball of the foot. It snowed 2 days after I received them and I was outside for hours. My feet did not get cold. They have good traction in the snow, grass and dirt. Just OK traction on asphalt or cement if it is slick outside. When you come back inside and leave your boots on for awhile your feet will get hot. And they look good!

Good boots, just as described.
Great shoes for their intended purpose (waterproof snow boots), good traction. I have always had good experiences with Merrell products and these are no exception. They are a little heavier than I wish they were, and though the zippers have no issues and seem durable, they are not so smooth. I purchased 1/2 size larger to be able to wear thick socks and they are just right, and comfy inside. I Live in the Mid Atlantic where Winter is seldom a big deal, but i think these are ready for prime time too.

A Little Finicky, But Good and Warm
Received the boots two days after the order. Had real trouble with the zipper opening and closing. Was ready to repack and send back and saw that some material was getting caught under the zipper. Once cleared, they work fine. Very close fit on ankle, so if that is an issue, these boots may not work. Sizing otherwise was spot on.

nice replacement to lace up
Nice warm boot for ice, snow and cold. Wear unzipped first few times to flex in, little vaseline on the zipper teeth lubes for icing/snow and small rawhide thru the pull to aid open/close for weather debris and gloved hands. This Merrill product is a fine way to get around the winter.

Boot stitching at the very top where it rubs against ...
Boot stitching at the very top where it rubs against my shin is flawed so that the cuff of the boot is twisted inward. I was going to return the boots but I could not find them anywhere else in my size so I decided to try to live with it.
