Certified International Corp Tuscany Salad/Dessert Plates, 9", Multicolored, Set of 6

I was worried about ordering these since a previous reviewer said that they looked like something you'd find at the dollar store, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. In fact, I had some friends over to my house the other day, and several of them were shocked when they realized that they were plastic; they thought that they were my ceramic dishes since my regular dishes have a similar Italianate feel to them. Melamine isn't microwave-safe, but these can be put into the top rack of the dishwasher. I've just been handwashing mine, though. This size is perfect for appetizers and desserts, and look much nicer than using paper plates.

I am not picky. I give very positive reviews 99.9% of the time but I just can't this time. I spent nearly $30 on plates of the same quality as those hard plastic plates found at Dollar General for a dollar each. I was so frustrated from being duped on these plates that I had to wait a couple of days to leave a review so that I could be more objective. If I could sum up my review in one statement it would be "Every time I look at these plates I feel like an idiot for buying them".

A little on the pricey side for melamine plates, but very good quality and beautiful design.

Gorgeous colors and pattern, lightweight saucer...great for dessert or appetizers.

Description is misleading! Don’t be fooled by the high price, these are melamine.

A little lighter weight, and less thickness than what I'm used to but very cute and functional. They seem to be doing fine in the dishwasher. So far so good.

These are great plates - beautiful color, sturdy, I washed in dishwasher without problems.

Excellent product. Beware though, they are plastic.
