It was advised for use in assmbling a barrel to an upper receiver.** A: Do not use any type of thread lock on the barrel nut. Use anti-seize compond, tighten the nut to 35-40 inch pounds at least three times, then tighten to final torque. I usually do it at 45-55 inch pounds **Q: Is the consistency of the product somewhat thick or water runny. I bought some other brand, and it is like water and messes up painted surfaces...** A: It's thin liquid as well. I use a tiny fine detail paint brush to apply. Toothpick works pretty good too.I use it to hold the pinion gear on small electric motors for your radio controlled helicopters and have to be careful not to get it in the motor bearings or it will seize them up. Definitely have to be careful with this stuff and even regular Loctite threadlock as they will eat plastic and other stuff. **Q: Will this work to keep bearing/hub grease covers from popping off of trailer hubs ? can it handle the temps created by trailer disk brakes.?** A: This product is rated to 150° F. Typical hub temps for a disc brake wheel can reach 200°. I would say this product would not be ideal. A temp reading of your hub would help. Depending on how much work your trailer brakes are doing, they might be lower. A temp reading of your hubs would help.
