It's never failed. I like everything about it. 5/5
It just works. This Anker SD Card Adapter is great especially if you're using USB-A ports. I've never had a single issue with this. It does what it says. Copies files to/from devices and Reads/Writes like a champ. I copy a lot of files from my DAW (Desktop) to my Laptop workstation. I do Custom Battle Records in Soundforge Pro and drop them into my Serato DJ Pro library with this SD Card Adapter. When I finish one or more sample chop, Battle Record masterpieces 🤔 I put the Wav file(s) onto an SD Card with this adapter plugged into my DAW (Desktop) Then eject the adapter and plug it into my Laptop. It works like a thumb drive but for SD cards. It only takes a few seconds to copy a few gigabytes of Wav files. I pick the crate I want to use & drop the new Wav files into my Serato DJ Pro software Plug the cable back into the laptop from my Pioneer DJM DJ mixer and click analyze inside the Serato software. Now the software sees the new file(s) and analyzes the various parameters. File Name, BPM, Length, Bit rate etc. For those of you who use this software remember to put your files in the music folder on your main internal/OS drive for best performance. It provides the quickest round trip, point A to point B. Basically once I have the files I want to copy, that whole process take about 5 min or less. The Anker might not be the best SD Card reader/writer you can buy. The SanDisk Professional SD Card Reader probably takes that spot but if you need a reliable portable SD Card Reader/Writer that does what it's supposed to without any hassle. Anker makes one of the best I've ever used. I plan on getting a portable usb-c Card Adapter as well, because usb-c is so ubiquitous, and the standard protocol. That said, I've had the Anker SD card adapter for over a year and I'll probably be using it for many more. I didn't know what to expect in terms of compatibility, ease of use and reliability when I got this. But the Anker SD Card Adapter exceeded my expectations. I produce music for a living. I need the things I use for that to not only work but help save time I use SD cards in my MPC. So I use this for that too. This might be a small device but it plays a surprisingly large role in my everyday workflow More than I expected it to when I bought it. But regardless of how you plan to using this to copy and transfer files, whatever the scenario as long as you're careful, it may be portable but it's still plastic it should remain a reliable SD card adapter for years. Connectivity is straight forward. In terms of heat it gets warm but usually not hot while in use. The card slots all function properly and easy to use. Again, think of this like a thumb drive for SD cards. It's Small but still capable of big jobs. The materials used on plastic with a metal/aluminum USB port as you'd expect. I've used this 100 times and it's never failed. I like everything about it, you probably will too. 5/5

New to Anker, gave this a shot and didn't disappoint
So I wrote a different review about a power strip I bought. I bought this AFTER I bought the power strip because I was very impressed with the tech, clean layout, and it seems very stable. I had a malfunctioned Samsung microSD card that nearly started a fire and/or burned my laptop motherboard (no joke, literally burned me trying to get it out) so I went with a SanDisk microSD card and needed a reader so that I don't risk that ever happening again. Since the Anker platform strip that I bought was really good, I stumbled across an Anker brand reader and decided to get it. It was really easy, just plugged it in and immediately recognized the SD card. I've used it a few times now and no issues. It's USB3 and I was able to pop over a few gigs of music quickly - the reader seems to process data fast. Since I'm new to microSD card readers I don't really have anything else to say. If it's anything like normal data transmitting with USB sticks then I would say it blazingly fast. I will contest that if anyone IS having issues with copying over files quickly, it would be the motherboard (and that just comes from knowledge of computer building over the years). As an example, I plugged this into my laptop and it dipped a couple of times - meaning it will stay consistent rate of MB/S and then all the sudden drop for no reason. Nothing major, but I have been struggling with processor and heat problems on this laptop. On another computer it doesn't do that. Mild dips at times, but that's it. Overall I'm just putting a tech-wise disclaimer in defense of the product that if you have a slower bus speed on your motherboard or a laptop that's under 1,000$ more than likely it's just a normal power problem with dips. This is also not even a real issue anyways considering it doesn't effect much of the speed process. I think I transferred 12 gigs in a couple minutes - I don't fully recall but it wasn't like 10 minutes or something - I just let it do it's thing and it was done. So it's very good quality. I think I will be continuing purchasing things from Anker. Like I said in my other product review I'm new to Anker so I didn't know what to expect. So far so good. Speaker might be next on the list <3

Works great, small and compact
I got the USB-A reader and it works great. It's fast and compact. I recently wanted to plug in two cards, one in each slot, and copy data from a micro card to another micro card with the adapter cartridge on a transcend reader and it would lose its mind with two cards in one adapter, so either I needed two adapters or an adapter that would let me copy from one card to another. Using this Anker adapter it works to copy from card to card using only this one adapter. Highly recommend. I'm back to buy a couple more for spares.

NICE DESIGN, GOOD SIZE, DUAL CAP ENDS, SOLID BUILD
I was in need of a SDXC Reader that I could use as a flash-drive also. After weeks of comparing, searching, I elected to buy the Anker Uspeed USB 3.0 Card Reader. The ratings were good compared to the number of persons dropping feedback. The negative reviews I negated because some people change their minds, or just don't know how to use electronic products etc....Then there is the issue that all manufactures must face (defective or dead units) which happen even with the best of manufacturing and quality control. I liked the Anker Uspeed USB 3.0 Card Reader because it is very similar to my Sandisk Reader. That the Anker sported an end entry SD slot, the end caps were interchangeable. The Anker Uspeed USB 3.0 Card Reader is a good size (merely a fraction thicker than my Sandisk Reader), capable of reading 2TB SDs when available. Just insert an SD Card into the end and cap, you have an instant flashdrive that can grow with your needs. The reader feels solidly constructed, when it works is considerably faster than its USB 2.0 predecessors. Yes, I have detected an issue with the Anker Uspeed USB 3.0 Card Reader. When my computers would not recognize a 8GB SDHC Class 4 or 16GB SDHC Class 10 Card, I thought it may be because it was formatted as NTFS (even though the computers built-in reader had no issues) so I formatted with the SD Formatter to Fat32 and same issue persist. Operating Systems are Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 8 Pro. I have not attempted a smaller SD Card but 32GB SDHC Class 10 and 64GB SDXC Class 10 works flawlessly. All of the SD Cards are new or lightly used, fully functional in all of my other internal and external readers. Very Bizarre! I see no need to return as my cards are merely growing in capacity, larger cards have worked well in this reader and recognized by all of my systems. Time will tell the true durability of this $10.00 reader. I pray it is reliable in the backcountry next year; until then, I have several months to work with it. If I were to amend improved changes to this reader -- I would add hole for attaching a keyring like on the Sandisk USB 2.0 card reader. I general give four stars but since I have issues with the reader when an inserted 8GB and 16GB cards are not recognized it has dropped to three stars. Would I recommend to a Friend? Yes, provided they were using cards as large or larger than 32GBs. God Bless! UPDATE: Well, Anker contacted me regarding this Card Reader and during that course they sent me a new unit. Their customer care is excellent, they respect their customers, and stand solidly behind their product. Unfortunately the replacement did not resolve my issue with the DANE-ELEC Pro200X 16GB SDHC Class 10 Card. The reader is recognized by all of my computer systems running Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 8 Pro. My 8GB, 32Gb, and 64GB SDHC and XC cards are recognized without issue. It is just this one card acting queerly. The DANE-ELEC Pro200X 16GB SDHC Class 10 Card has been formatted in FAT32, eFat, NTFS, and reformatted with the SD FORMATTER with full erase format settings. Though the card works in all of my cameras supporting this type of card, in all of my built-in computer readers, and the Sandisk USB 2.0 Reader -- for some bizarre reason it is not recognized by the Anker USB 3.0 Reader. I have performed a full scan of the DANE-ELEC Pro200X 16GB SDHC Class 10 Card, no issues are present. This is as expected because the card is brand new as it was included with my Full HD camcorder purchase in its own retail packaging. I appreciate Anker's efforts to resolve this unique problem as they have gone far above what other competitors would have done. I have increased my stars from three to four for their great customer care. They have offered one of the easiest transaction I have ever made equaled to Amazon.com. That says a lot! works great to access my files
This sd card reader works great and is very easy to use. This device barely gets warm at all. The value for the money is good. The size is ok when you compare it to other options. This device has a bright led to indicate power and data transfer. I'm very happy with my purchase. I had this sd card reader for about a year now.
