Roland Anchovies, Flat in Olive Oil, are excellent quality. The fillets are flavorful, tender, and not overly salty, with a rich taste that works perfectly in salads, pasta, sauces, or on toast. The olive oil keeps them fresh and enhances the flavor. Great pantry staple for anyone who enjoys authentic anchovies — I’ll definitely purchase again.

These tasty guys taste just like a quality european one but are cheaper. That means you can use them really liberally in recipes and snacks. I love them in pasta for the salty, oily anchovy goodness, got me like Zoidberg.

I usually buy Cento anchovies. My daughter bought Roland anchovies for me. They are very good. No bones, great taste.

These are excellent tasting, fresh, and you get a decent size portion. But... each and every last one contains bones! Little spiky bones. I like to eat these raw and this is a no-win situation for me. Would not buy again due to this issue. I tried to show the bones in some of my photos so you can see for yourself. The product arrived undamaged, and had an expiration date good until October 2028 (I received these January 2026). There is quite a bit of oil, but I suppose that's what is keeping them fresh. I also noticed no pungent smell when opening. Everything would have been perfect had they been boneless. Stored them in my kitchen cabinet until use with zero issues. They were sealed well but it was easy to remove the top, pulling very slowly. Sadly I'll have to find another brand that promises no bones!

My go-to anchovies, a great small fish for protein and no heavy metals.

Very small can but they taste great.are perfect for greek salad.

Some of the anchovies in the can were a bit more broken than I would have liked, making them a little messier to handle for recipes where whole fillets are preferred. Also, while the olive oil is fine, it doesn't impart a particularly rich flavor to the fish.
