This was the only stamper I could find that met my needs for the number of digits. I read the negative reviews but purchased anyway, however, I haven't had any of the issues others have mentioned. Setting the numbers does require a delicate touch but the adjacent numbers don't move as long as you don't touch them. You just need to be careful that you are using the same dial on the front and back - it's easy to get the wrong one of you're not paying attention to your placement. I use this for notary entries in my journal. And the dials move easily. It’s long enough for my use and has a variety of symbols along with the numbers and letters. It takes ink easily and stamps clearly. It seems sturdy and like it will last me a long time. It’s got a comfy grip that’s not too big. The stamp itself is quite large/long but it accommodates all 26 letters, numbers and symbols.

If you want a price gun, buy a price gun. If you want a stamp for constant use in a commercial setting, buy that. If you want several different stamps, buy several: don't be cheap and try to use this one stamp for everything. And if you think you're going to get extremely ergonomic, precision Swiss engineering at this price, get a hold of yourself: this is an effective, specialized, modest tool at a fair price. This isn't meant to serve in place of all stamps. It's great for repeatedly marking 12 (or fewer) symbols on paper (and maybe things, I suppose it depends on what ink you use). For example, I have extreme difficulty writing by hand so I use this stamp to make entries of recurring events in my book-style calendar -- if I'm teaching class X and time Y on Tuesdays and Thursdays this semester, this stamp makes it easy to indicate that, very legibly, on all the appropriate days. Turning the wheel you want (to choose each character), and only that wheel, takes some care. And if you are setting 12 characters, it's going to take a couple of minutes. If you have arthritic hands, giant fingers, poor fine motor skills, or very fragile skin on your fingertips, forget it. Also this is not the right tool if you want to go back and forth between stamping, say, "confidential" and then "received" in alternation. But if you want to stamp one thing once in a while (maybe a scrapbook page?), or a bunch of things with the exact same character string (maybe "Spring Break" on 9 consecutive pages in a calendar), it's just the thing, and very good value for the money. Practice for 5 minutes and you'll get clear, clean impressions with no problems. Do use good ink, like VersaFine; if you buy a cheap stamp pad your results won't be so great. I'm completely satisfied, given that this costs less than 2 months of Prime membership. By the way, the letters are a half-centimeter tall (about 3/16ths of an inch).

Got this to lable my dahlia tubers and it works well

It feels sort of cheap. The rubber shifts easily on the bar and makes the letters not spaced well. The wheels are also a pain to turn and feel a bit fragile.

I really wanted this to create page numbers on documents. This is a 12 digit roller. If you want just one or two digits like 7, or 22, you have to roll all the other digits or symbols away. This was very difficult and painful. The rollers cut my fingers. It was very frustrating. As you try to roll symbols away, the numbers you want also begin to roll away, Lol but not really Lol. It was FRUSTRATING. Then when I finally got my numbers, impressions of other symbols could not be moved off the roller. There were no blanks to fill in the extra spaces on either sides of my number. Impressions of other symbols were seen when I began to stamp. Ugh..I had to stop. It didn't work for my needs. But, maybe your needs are different. Good Luck!

easy to use

The letters are 5cm in height. The rubber is soft and malleable enough to push the letters closer together or pull them further apart, depending on your desired effect. The best way to get a clean transfer is to ensure that you have inked all the letters evenly and then stamp in a rolling motion. Start by leaning the stamp toward you and rolling it forward (or vise versa). Avoid using a heavy hand for this. Also make sure you're stamping on a hard, flat surface. If you want to make sure the letters are in a straight line/leveled, you can use a ruler to push the edge of each letter (the square portion) into a straight line. With these kept in mind, this product works really well and has become my go to stamp for documents (numbering, dates, etc) as well as crafting.
