I will say the Velcro to close the umbrella frayed over time so closing it can be a pain but that was expected since I use it constantly. The auto open and close button however is just fine still. The umbrella is also noticeably cooler underneath on a hot day. And I've used it in the rain just fine. A little small for Florida's sideways rain but my primary need was for sunlight anyway. I bought this umbrella so I'll atleast have semi relief when I have to check the mail or go to my dr appointments. Just the few mins from the car to the building is brutal. I just received and here are my initial thoughts. I do agree it is a bit heavy (which I was skeptical when I was reading other reviews. I was like psh these people are probably just being picky..ya...no...I agree..it's heavy lol). I also couldn't imagine if I got the smaller size. I got 46" and so glad I did. Actually wish it was a little bigger too..might have to consider getting the 50 some odd inch ones. It does it's job..I do feel cooler under it. The material does have a strong smell but I'm sure like all products it'll fade over time. I will say this crap is hard to close though omg! Like you really have to use some muscle to push it back down. If you're a big strong person you're good to go. It's not the BIGGEST struggle to close but my gosh do you have to use some force..more than you should have to for an umbrella. The material seems sturdy. The wobble of the umbrella while you're holding it is SUPERRRRRRR annoying. That in itself has me so tempted to return it. Just wobbling around around heaviness making it annoying to hold. I'll give it a trial run and see how I feel. I def don't hate the product.
