CHI Color Illuminate Conditioner, Helps Maintain Fresh Color In Natural & Color-Treated Hair, Sulfate, Paraben, & Cruelty-Free, Lavender Plum, 8.5 Oz

I've been using this brand of Mahogany Red conditioner twice a week after I wash my hair for about 6 months now on my already red dyed hair. It does well to keep the color fresh and bright. However, it is not a very effective conditioner and my fine hair dries out very easily especially when I apply daily heat while styling. To combat this, I condition my hair with my normal conditioner twice a week, about 2 days after I use this product. Also, this product is extremely pigmented and can temporarily stain your scalp and hands. Depending on how much pigment you want to deposit into your hair, you can change how you use this product. To deposit more color (maybe an initial application to completelychange your hair color), I apply it to my DRY hair and let it sit for the duration of my shower (20 min or so) then rinse in cold water without shampooing. If you're on more of a maintenance routine to enhance an existing red, I dilute this conditioner with my normal conditioner with about 1/3 regular conditioner and 2/3 color conditioner by mixing it in my hand before application. This also helps to improve the conditioning ability of this product. I know this sounds a little complicated, but I really enjoy the shade of red this conditioner deposits into my hair and I don't mind the routine. The smell isn't the best, but again, my regular conditioner improves it. The worst side effect is that when I work out at the gym and sweat, the red dye drips onto my face and clothing and can be embarrassing, but I'm sure that's with any coloring product. Overall, it's definitely worth the price and does it's job as a color depositing product.

I love this!!! I naturally had really dark hair. My stylist was able to give me a good dark red base color without bleaching or anything. She recommended this to me. This conditioner seriously takes it to a new level!!! I rarely leave reviews but I kind of felt like with all of the noticeable difference I’ve seen it was worth it to do so! I’ve done a couple of things with it to try it out and obviously the longer you leave it on, the more richness and deepness you’ll get. It’s seriously the most subtle but stunning color! I’ve already reordered.

It was much brighter than I was expecting, but if I had read the description below the color name - that probably would have tipped me off. I have dark hair with light highlights and it really popped on the lighter hair. As it's started washing out - it's much closer to what I was expecting. It definitely did what it said it would do. It also made my hair very smooth and shiny.

Really surprised how well this worked! I've been getting my hair dyed for a while but I needed to find a way to refresh my color and save a little bit of money. Super easy to apply. The color is really vibrant and felt like I just walked out of the salon. Next time I might try mixing some colors to see what it does. I used the mahogany color and it is pretty pungent which anyone who is experienced with red colors, that is perfectly normal. I am really satisfied with the results. I will see how it will fade but this feel no different than going to the salon and getting it redyed. The smell isn't the greatest but it is something I can deal with personally. There are certainly worse smells these kinds of products could have. I wanted to share what I did in case someone out there needs more details. - I highly suggest getting one of those hair dyeing kits with the poncho, clips, shower cap etc etc. I didn't use everything but it was nice to have the items there. - Wear gloves, wear gloves, wear gloves. This stuff stains and will look like a murder scene if you're not careful. Have some cleaner nearby and be diligent about cleaning up messes. I found the bigger the blot, the faster and more it stains. - After trying from a small bit of my hair to test the color, I took a normal shower to shampoo my hair and then did the actually application of the toner at the sink. -Be diligent and make sure to tone all areas of your hair (where you want it obvs). You don't want it look inconsistent. -After applying the toner and letting it sit, I wash it in the sink and then styled it like normal. -So far, it stains very much like fresh salon dyeing. It might get on your clothes, your hands when you touch it, and your pillowcase. So be wary.

Used this one time and now I’m convinced I want to dye my entire head red. The conditioner left my hair super soft and the color was amazing! I wish I had a good before picture but it was a medium brown before. I had some red in it when I got it done but it faded super fast.

So for me the color conditioner attached to my red that was already strong. However, the part that was faded it did not grab at all. It also felt very conditioned while in the shower, however, when I got out it was very dry. I had to actually use another deep conditioner or spray in conditioner. I know it may be hard to tell in the pix but part of my faded red almost looks strawberry blonde after using the conditioner while the other parts look a nice deep magenta pink. I wont be purchasing this again. It just didn't work for me. It does stain your skin so be careful when using it. The smell is tolerable niether pleasent nor unpleasant. But for the price I had hoped it would have worked a little better on my hair. It also does not cover gray hair. I had hoped this would be a good solution for inbetween my coloring my hair but it was sadly a no go. I hope others may have better luck.

I was looking for something that would maintain my auburn hair color between home colorings, since it starts degrading after a week or so. THIS IS IT!!! I wash my hair on a daily basis, and only need to use it twice a week. The other days I use CHI regular conditioner.

had red steaks in my hair already and i wanted them darker, THIS DID IT!! Also CHI quality so it conditioned my hair perfectly. i left this on my hair for over 30 minutes - maybe thats why it worked well, idk, but it did keep my red from fading and it bumped it up to this deep burgundy color i was looking for. AWESOME PRODUCT

Deja el pelo muy suave en primer lugar Y este es el color que siempre quise tener y pues ya lo tengo, yo uso esta mascarilla una vez al mes y me la echo como un tinte la dejo unas 2 horas y luego me lavo el pelo como siempre y listo, Magia He dejado una foto del antes y del después!
