It is, however, going to take a while to become accustomed to the lack of flexibility. They’re different from thinner plastic zip bags.The zip lock is very good and seals well.Be aware these bags do not have a squared off bottom / don’t stand on their own when filling. That also makes the capacity for bulky items (versus liquid items) less. It is difficult to get very many cookies, or a plate of foods, to fit in through the opening and the stiffness of the bag limits space for holding solid items.Cleaning them is fairly easy, but I recommend after washing & rinsing, to dry them out with a towel or paper towel as well as turn them upside down on a tall glass tocompletely dry out.I am looking forward to seeing how long these last as I am trying to use less plastic. These have done well sofar in the freezer. I hope this reviewhelps.Update May 2020: I officially do not like these bags. Mostly because of the sealing issues. The concept is great, but the zip seal seldom lines up correctly, causing slight cursing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Eco-friendly Plastic Alternative! *by E***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 17, 2019* I finally found an amazing alternative to single-use plastic bags and I am THRILLED! I use these reusable bags for everything now. There are always at least 3 in my fridge and I just ordered two more sets. I should not be this excited about reusable bags, but I’m not even ashamed at this point because these things are awesome.I’ve seen some people ask if they are really freezer safe. The answer is YES! As soon as I received mine, I washed them out and started putting food in them. One of my major concerns was whether they would be a good option for freezer foods. So, I put meat in two of the bags and placed them in my freezer. They have been in there a little over a week now (see photo) and they have performed beautifully.The zippers are press seal, so you don't have to worry about them not sealing. You can feel the seal closing under your fingers, so there’s no guessing whether your bag is sealed. Anything you used to store in a plastic bag, you can store in these bags.My husband commented on how thick they are and how easy they were to seal. We both like being able to see what’s what in the fridge and they take up very little room (see photos) Also, they DO NOT LEAK. I wanted to make sure and point that out. I’ve put leftover soup in them and, of course, the bag fell over on its side in the fridge, but there was no leaking or mess. None. I turned the bag upside down (just for kicks) and it didn’t leak at all, even with me bouncing the bag, so you don’t have to worry about that.These bags are the ultimate replacement for single-use plastic bags - this is huge! When my new order comes in, I’ll have a total of 18 and I’ll likely end up buying one or two more sets in the future. Trust me, if you’re on the fence about these, don’t be. This is a fantastic buy and I’m excited that such a great zero-waste option is available! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ SEE UPDATE! Impossible to FULLY Zip After 1 Month of Use!! *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 23, 2019* We love everything about these bags BUT we have noticed that it is getting more and more difficult to fully zip the zippers after time. Note that we ONLY hand-wash them with warm water, and hang them in the dish rack to dry.It started with only one of the bags, but just under two months of use later, 4 of the 6 bags no longer fully seal...no longer how hard we try. Yes, I know some people will say “I can get it to seal”...TRUST ME, we put it through the Mother In Law test (as well as some of the best “sealers” in America) and each of them only became increasingly frustrated as they tried to get the problem bags to fully seal. This is either a durability issue OR a defect. I am hoping Amazon or the retailer reaches out to me on this. Not happy.UPDATE: the company reached out and very sincerely apologized. They offered a refund which I refused because I did get some use out of them before they stopped working. They provided a $10 discount code anyway. I am happy that this company takes customer service seriously. I have moved my review to 4 stars.
