Durable, well crafted, 5-star customer service!
I’m absolutely in love with my Teakhaus teak cutting boards! (I’m leaving this review for the small board, but I have the larger version of this as well.) The craftsmanship is superb—the board looks stunning and feels incredibly luxurious. The juice groove and ergonomic grip handles are so helpful. One of the biggest selling points for me is the moisture (and mold) resistance of teak—no more lingering garlic smells or strawberry streaks on my boards! It’s also much gentler on my knives. As a fan of the Buy-It-For-Life (BIFL) Reddit forums, I debated between Teakhaus and Boos. Ultimately, I chose Teakhaus because of their commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility (their boards are made from 100% sustainably sourced wood from FSC certified forests). On top of that, their customer service is exceptional—prompt, helpful, and genuinely kind. I’m officially a customer for life. Happy cooking!

Great little board
Teakhaus products are the best. The is a super little board. Yes, it is small which is perfect for those quick little jobs when you don’t want to wash your big board. It is so gentle on knife blades and the channel around one side corrals juices from fruit. Love it!

Three Stars. Add 1 Star for Benefit of the Doubt.
Nice Size. Good Weight. But... Quality of Workmanship and pits are not so good. Even thought mine looked better than the Amazon Photos, I wouldn't keep it. I would keep it if it didn't have a deep pit in a small knot. The pit was 2 mm deep x 4mm long x 2.5mm wide. Looks like the manufacture didn't put enough glue in the pit. The other side of the pit was fine. They had used a filler that seem durable. But for the one side of the knot, they forgot to fill it properly. I can see the glue and an empty pit inside the glue. PROs: -Love that fact that it dries quickly. -Retains the Block Oil(Block Bros.) very well. -Cool Canal and Corner Hole are great features. -Forgiving to knives. -Looks great. Rose highlights came out on a few strips. Cons: Pit not filled. Hole shows signs of bad craftmanship. (Router bit wondered and left swirl marks on one side of the hole.) Other Imperfections which were Negligible. I found out about Proteck Cutting Boards at TriMark Store. The ones that had on sale look amazing and the finish was very smooth. They were darker and were priced at least 20% more than Amazon. I would still recommend this to others. Wish I hadn't gotten a dud. If I see it go on sale below $16, I would give it another try.

My cutting board had no splinters but some peole did. Maybe it depends on the seller?
I received today and not yet oiled it but from the look of it, I think I will love it. I read so many conflicting reviews that the 8 x 8 inch size is too small. Or the wood was rough. I have no splinters and the size is perfect for me if I do not need the larger cutting board. It is double sided so I can see where the cutting area of the grooved side for juice might be small. But the reverse side is perfect for small things. More to review as I use it. I do value these reviews. My cutting board had no splinters but some people did. Maybe it depends on the re-seller? It is a name brand with Teakhaus so not sure ...

Unfinished wood led to mold
Terrible quality-- wood was not finished, so after months of using it, water had seeped in and there was mold in the juice groove. We tried to sand it down and refinish it ourselves, but it was bad enough that the mold had gone through a significant amount of the wood. Had to completely throw it away.

The strength of the wood is amazing.
I LOVE ITS STRENGTH AND HOW EASY IT IS TO CLEAN. VERY DIFFERENT THAN OTHER WOODEN CUTTING BOARDS.

Cutting board
I should have paid attention to the size. It was way too small so I sent it back.
