I have been growing a long beard (almost to my belly button) for more than 10 years. Recently, I started experiencing itchy skin and dandruff. After just one use of this product, my skin became itch-free, and the dandruff disappeared. I was also amazed at how soft my beard became. This is an excellent product for men with beards. I would like to add that I really appreciate that this brand offers an unscented choice. I am very sensitive to scents and smells. For instance, I cannot stand laundry detergent scents and need to use unscented detergent. This unscented version is perfect for my beard.

I am an older guy who recently decided to grow a medium-size Van Dyke type beard (#3 setting on my new Remington trimmer) and this is my first venture into the world of beard products. This shampoo lathers nicely and the coal tar scent is light, masculine and dissipates almost immediately after you wash it out, which is fine for me. I definitely feel it makes the hair softer, more pliant, and with fewer stray hairs popping-out, as well as eliminating the itch I sometimes experienced before using it. I also like the fact it is about as all-natural as they come, as I have had some facial allergy issues in the past, and reasonably-priced. Coupled with their Mountain Beard Oil, which I like, too, new boar's hair brush, beard comb and Remington trimmer, my beard is now presentable to the world, lol! Found the bottle's inner dispenser top constantly coming out when the top is unscrewed, which is a hassle in the shower, as many others have commented here, as well, but can be avoided if you only tighten the cap gently until it no longer turns, but not torque or over-tighten it. I think this prevents the cap from making contact with the inner dispenser piece and pulling it out, at least it works that way for me.

Love the smell and I like that it actually smells natural for once. It reminds me of all the times on the trail I've spent. Ive always had skin issues due to a auto immune disease. My skin gets dry and tends to develop rash underneath my beard from sweating so much while working all week. Only took a few days for it to go away. My beard is no longer like sandpaper. This companies products work. I've tried many before but I've never seen results this fast. I took it upon myself to also order balm from their website and they even sent me a bottle of oil. With the three bottles combine my beard is softened to the point where I can train it again. Ever since the years of the pandemic those darn masks trained the way my beard grows and it splits in the middle. It's so thick I couldn't get it to uncurl at the sides of the middle. After a routine trim and using these products for only a week I'm already seeing the beard growing straight down again. The split is disappearing. I can actually train my beard again and I'm glad I finally found a product (company) that actually works. Even more prideful that it's made in WV. My home away from home. (I live in PA now). Quality american product that is actually natural. 5 stars all around. Take.my money Mountaineer Brand. I salute you. I will be sure to mention this at any opportunity.

The smell is very nice, refreshing and clean. The beard feels soft and nice after using it and the shampoo does a great job cleaning the beard. The consistency isn't so great. Depending on the temperature (winter months) it's either runny, clear and smooth, or white and less runny (when it's colder), even after shaking the bottle. The label on the body isn't straight. (Same issue on their bald cream) I know it's not very important, but I feel like it should be easy enough to put a label on straight. I appreciate the fact that it's all natural and that it works so well.

**Update** I recently bought a new bottle of this product. Mountaineer Brand has changed the cap to a much better press cap design. I've changed my review to reflex this change. This is my second Mountaineer brand beard shampoo. Used the WV Pines first and now the Timber. I love the scent. It lathers very well and rinses with little effort. Only the smallest amount is needed and can usually wash my beard, face, neck and what little hair on the top of my head. I have zero issues with the product or it's quality. My only problem that I wish to see addressed, the packaging. This being my second bottle I hoped it was just a singular incident, but unfortunately it wasn't. The clear plastic insert that is in the mouth of the bottle is cheap. On both bottles it was damaged, the plastic fins were broken. It does not stay on the mouth of the bottle, and care must be given so the product does spill out while pouring it into to you palm.

Tried this beard oil after checking out reviews and researching several options. It seemed to be a good quality at the right price. The smell is excellent: manly and refined, clean and crisp. It's strong but not overpowering while using, and lingers a little after a shower, but not so much that it interferes with a quality beard oil post shower. Advice: DON'T do like I did and treat it like a regular shampoo. There's a dropper for a reason! A little goes a long way!!! I use about the same amount of wash as I would use of beard oil and it foams up excellently. Get a nice lather in your hands and massage face and skin under beard first, then work your way outward through your beard. I have no problem seeing this last months for me with roughly a 4" beard or so. The price is great for the quantity. I'll probably use this once to twice a week. Your beard doesn't need to be "washed" every day or it can be overdone and dry out. For the most part, a good rinse with water is all it takes with some beard oil post shower. This is my favourite beard wash. It also lasts a long time. So, you get good value for your money. Although my most recent order did not arrive on time, the people at Mountaineer provided me with excellent service. They responded to my emails very quickly, were extremely helpful, and kind. For anyone looking for a good beard wash I would recommend Mountaineer without hesitation.

I was using the blue one with the pirate flag on it for ten years and decided to try this after I found my face becoming more and more irritated with other alternatives. I dont use this daily, only 2-4 times a week but it has never left my face feeling raw or dry. I would pay double after experiencing it. I
