I recently purchased the Amazon Basics 4-Pack Rechargeable C Cell NiMH Batteries (5000mAh, Pre-Charged) to power the electronic ignition system on my gas fireplace, and I’m so thrilled with their performance that I bought a second pack! These batteries were a perfect fit for my fireplace’s battery-operated control module, which sparks the pilot light and ignites the burner. Right out of the box, they were pre-charged and ready to use, allowing me to start my fireplace instantly with a simple press of the ignition button, creating a cozy ambiance without any hassle. Purchased these for a powerful PIR light for the outdoor store in our tennis club. They last pretty well, even in cold weather and have saved their cost many times over compared to disposable batteries. Haven't bothered to check whether they hold a genuine 10,000mAh but they were the cheapest available and weigh enough to convince me that they are not just a sub C cell in a large can.

Great reasonably priced batteries that hold a good charge. Work great for my DAB radio in the bathroom.

These are quite hard to find in the shops and can be pricey, They suit my transistor radio and last a long time between charges. No problems so far with these and I would buy again.

These batterie took over 30 hour to charge initially so hoping they are ok so hence only 4 stars for now as don’t know full capacity or longevity of their charge for now

These are very good quality 9V NiMH cells when compared to one of the pioneers, Tenergy 9V NiMH LSD, analyzed new out of box. Pros Came fully charged, using a battery analyzer all cells exceeded 180 mAh each Manufacture date is stamped on each battery, mine are Jul 2019. This reinforces they are fresh as aging deteriorates the pack ISO protocol battery analysis of 100mA discharge confirms that each pack stores >= 200mAh, actual was over 10% each. Each pack was within 5% of each other, very close tolerance Good build quality, excellent label on the cells, marking, and connectors By contrast, new 9v LSD NiMH I bought from another maker 10 years ago had none of these Pros except the last. Those packs suggest inconsistent manufacture, and only half of that batch of 9V work like new. Cons Slightly bigger than standard 9V and could be a tight or a no fit for some devices No data on self discharge rate, or expected calendar life Please note all types of 9V are actually battery packs, not individual batteries and should be treated as a NiMH battery pack, that is NiMh cells in series, otherwise you won't get the expected life in years of the pack. A pack should be kept fully charged, as the discharge rate of AmazonBasic 9V LSD are not known, its best to recharge these once a year, even if unused. Used packs should be charged up as soon as possible, if left in the discharged state it increases the risk of reverse discharge to some cells in series. This is because all cells have a self discharge rate, albeit small, but when in series, the weaker cells in series may be pushed into reverse discharge, and hence, over discharged. Also when a 9V is fully discharged, it usually means its at 7V, or about 1V per cell, the low limit before it is over discharged and some cells in the series may not be well made and may already be near or at reverse discharge. If you keep the pack topped up, it almost certainly will not happen. See comments for references.
