The portion is revivifyingly large for one hungry person and reasonable for two who have been eating lots of hiking snacks. It's not going to replace the coconut chicken curry in my heart, but it is definitely something easy and tasty to look forward to at the end of a trail day.One caution is that the instructions understate the water and soak time and can leave the meat and mushrooms a little crunchy. I find a full 400ml of boiling water and a 20 minute hydration time with a second round of stirring/mixing half way through gives good results.Given that it's better in quality (and in quantity) than the fast food I might easily buy on the way to the trailhead, I'd say these are even pretty decent value as pre-packaged backpacking meals go. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Backpacking *by on Reviewed in the United States March 29, 2026* I must admit it was better than expected, the consistency and texture of the food was OK for what it is. The meat has a beef jerky texture, but besides that it was fine and the sauce was a good addition.
