Very nice crate.
This crate had all parts included at arrival. I purchased this two-toned gray crate as a new product and received it as such. I would have immediately returned if it had been used or damaged. I assembled without any problems. The crate made with medium heavy plastic on 1/2 sides down, back and bottom with 4” inserted wire windows into plastic sections which secured the safety of the crate even more. I observed no exposed wire ends around the three inserted wire windows. The front gate seemed heavy duty and sturdy and was installed without problems. I placed the crate back on the floor and easily installed all four corner wires into designated holes at the same time for a safe/secure fit. I appreciated these holes were built up above the level of the top for added security fit. My dog weighs approx 10-11lbs. She is a small mixed dachshund/chihuahua. I would not recommend a larger dog or cat because I observed a strain on the top of gate when I carried her inside. The top of the crate would stretch and cause the gate wires to come out of their designated holes. The door could not be opened until I lifted the crate with her inside again and easily returned the gate wires to their designated holes. I would not recommend forcing the gate for fear of breaking the plastic holes or bending the gate door. I appreciate the door can be opened on either the left or right side. I appreciate the dual plastic locking devices…arthritic fingers. I would not recommend carrying a pet inside this crate for a long length of time. I suggest making the end door wires a bit longer so a bolt can be screwed to each wire end for added stability when the plastic crate pulls away from the gate wires. I bought this crate for safety while on short trips, shopping, distress alleviating exercises and while I vacuum and mop. She is terrified of all common home noises and mortified of being outside either with me or fear of being left outside alone. My little dog was one of a dozen small dogs living their entire lives in a small wire cage OUTSIDE in a horrible hoarding situation. Her dew claws are permanently damaged due to being caught in the floor wires and broken away from her foot bone. After a week of seeing this crate, short entries (all while holding the carrier) she now enters it on her on and rests peacefully. The bottom is sturdy and safe and all wire window inserts pose no threat to her safety and allows her to see me from all sides of the crate as I move around her. I did not need instructions to assemble this crate. 15 mins total. I am 67 years old.

A good crate that I am happy with
*Overall, I would rate this crate as definitely worth it. However, I'm giving this 5 stars not because I necessarily think this is the best crate ever, or I'd never like another one. It functions well, especially for the price. I can't think of a reason to give it 4 stars, as I have no desire to get a different crate. This is a good crate, again especially because of the price!* Fairly easy to put together, just follow the instructions. No tools technically needed, but I did use a basic screw driver to help put in the 6 screws around the edge. If that's a deal breaker for you, it would technically work without the screws, as there are too plastic clamps on either side... (although I don't advise it, especially if it's not just sitting on the floor like mine.) I enjoy the design of the door. It is easy and smooth to open and shut the door, which is one of the most important things for me when choosing a crate. If you want your pet to be able to go in and out as they please, you will need to brace the door open to keep it open all the way. (That's not a complaint, just a note.) It is not difficult though; personally, I just stick a dog toy at the bottom. Really anything would work. I really like that it opens from the top! I have a small dog that likes to meld himself to the back of the crate when he is sleeping. It would literally be impossible to get him out through the front, because I am physically unable to reach him. Now I just pop the top open and I can reach him just fine! The opening is large enough to easily lift him out. The lock/latch system keeps the top stays securely in place when not in use. I will say opening from the top is not as easy nor smooth as the front door. It does take me a few times. Taking the top off IS much faster than putting it back in place, however, which matters more to me. As does it's security. If I have one issue with this crate, it's that I struggle a bit to open and close the top. It's not worth a whole star though, in my opinion. It's not because anything is wrong with it or the parts are cheap. It just takes control and precision (and therefore practice). There are two rods that come in and out on both sides. They need to to be lined up in their respective proper place at the same time, which requires both hands to be in sync with eachother. I could see myself getting better at it over time. I just haven't been using it a lot. When I need to, though, I really appreciate it still and I'm glad it's available; it's definitely worth it. If you have a pet that is hard to get out (maybe at the vet), the top door will come in handy!

Better than you think!
Very sturdy build, first one sent was obviously a previous return with missing hardware but quick fix replacement and it's perfect size and not a cheap flimsy design. Door opens either way or comes off completely without having to unscrew the sides, door has bars for the top and bottom covers to prevent the handle or pet weight stretch and the handle clips flush with the top for stacking or organizing. Very pleased.

Nice little cat carriers
I ordered 2 of these carriers to take my 2 adult cats to the vet in. They were easy to assemble. I only needed a Philips head screwdriver to tighten the bolts. As soon as I got the first one done, both of my cats had to check it out. The only thing I don't like is opening the top door. My fingers aren't long enough to hold pull both of the spring-loaded "pins", which are also the hinges, back to unlatch it and lift open the door at the same time. At the vet's office it won't be a problem because I won't be trying to open it alone. There is plenty of room for each cat individually, but they don't like each other enough to both be in one, even though they would fit. They're adult cats each weighing around 10lbs. The carriers are light enough that I can manage them easily, and can be taken apart for cleaning, by removing the 6 bolts that hold the top to the bottom. As for durability, I can't say yet. But, they seem durable enough for what I need. They got here quickly too.

Sturdy, secure, easy to assemble, lightweight to carry. It’s my first time needing a carrier for my rabbits. It’s their first vet trip. I read a wonderfully helpfully review of this carrier, from somebody mentioning she liked the bolt feature (something I hadn’t considered to be a feature to look out for). She mentioned it adds extra security if the side clips fail or break. After reading reviews of other carriers, people mentioned the clips broke or the bottom fell off in transit and the animal fell out. So, it was a big reason I purchased this carrier, because the top and bottom can also be bolted with metal screws and not just rely on the plastic clips to hold them together. However, when assembling the carrier, the screw went in fine, but I struggled to attach the washer on the other end, it was fiddly, no helpful tool supplied to do it and I couldn’t tighten them fully with my fingers. In the end, I just used black cable ties instead of the screw bolts. Easier when dissembling for storage that way, just cut the ties instead of fiddling with a bunch of six screws. I’m pleased it can open from the top via the handle, or from the front cage entrance. The gate felt thick, rather than thin wire. The clasp feature to lock it felt very secure. I feel the rabbits will be safe and secure and can’t escape, God-willing! I bought the small 19” size because it won’t be used often, or for long journeys (vets is 10min drive away). My rabbit is the size of a small-medium cat/dog. He is a fully grown Lop rabbit, 18mth old (not dwarf or mini). In my opinion, This carrier will be suitable for a medium sized adult rabbit, or a small-medium cat. I don’t think it’s suitable for an animal of this size for a long journey over 30-45min long, as there isn’t too much space for stretching/sprawling out, or standing on hind legs. If the animal is returning from vet treatment and needing to lay/rest with minimal movement, then it’s ideal. It will also be fine for short journeys, if the animal has had exercise time prior to entering the carrier, they’ll likely stay still and sleep. For a long, lengthy journey, or for a larger cat/dog/rabbit etc, I’d suggest buying the bigger size option. Very happy with this purchase. The price was very good compared to some options that didn’t appear to be as good. My only regret is not buying the larger size, just incase I ever want to do a long journey with them (I should of thought that through better!) at least it will be easy for storage and also, the bottom section of the carrier can be used as a spare litter tray when not used for the carrier feature (yes, for those who don’t own rabbits, they can be litter trained like cats).
