Looks and works great

I kinda bought this on a lark, but I rather say I like it. It's sturdy and well built, and comes with some serrated edges along each hook/tine that could cut you if you're not careful. To this end they also provide a pair of gloves to help mitigate. I like it. It's *slightly* smaller than I expected, which is why it's 4 star vs. 5 (wish I could do halves), but it looks well made and quite functional. Well done!

This is a useful tool if you understand how to use it. Do NOT treat it like Hollywood. This is not meant for climbing buildings or swinging across cliffs. I use mine for hiking. It is useful for securing one end of a rope to help traverse steep or slippery terrain. You carefully secure the hook and make your way slowly and cautiously across the terrain, using the hook to increase your stability. The hook is strong and sturdy, albeit it a bit heavy. It is handy for wrapping around tree trunks or branches to give extra stability. It is useful for moving things like logs or trees off the road. It also can give you a "clawed" surface to help slow yourself should you find yourself sliding while traversing a trail. Use this tool with respect and care. Never try to use it the way Hollywood portrays it. That is fiction, and not how it should be used in the real world.

This is a very good tool it was purchased to make removal of an abandoned swimming pool liner once the sides of the liner were allowed to drop down on the perimeter of the pool the hook was tossed into the folds of the loose liner and it was then winched out using the supplied rope and 3 separately purchased pulleys.

The hook is extremely tough and gets really positive grab on underwater goodies The rope has a albeit thin steel cable makes it that much stronger. I did pull out a Tacoma tailgate out of the river using my Tacoma because it seamed to be stuck in the mud. This is a great add-on to your magnet fishing set. Down side to the rope is that same steel cable starts to fray and even poke out through the outer cover of the rope. But the biggest let down is that the carabiner is not that strong. I hooked something heavy and used my truck to try to pull it out which seemed to be working until the carabiner gave way and has lost my grappling hook. I will be ordering a new one in the near future.
