Fantastic pill cutter. The best one I’ve found by far. A++.

I purchased this pill cutter from Amazon well over 10 years ago. No complaints, it works well cutting both large and small pills nicely. I’m going to purchase another one, only because I have 2 dogs on meds and it’s easier if I have a pill cutter for each of them.

If you've ever used a pill cutter, you know how inaccurate they are at cutting pills into two or four pieces. Someone recommended this one, saying their vet office had purchased it. It does work well! So many pill cutters cut uneven or pulverize part of the pill. This one has a clean cut, and it's pretty easy to situate the pill where it needs to be, unlike other pill cutters, where you can't really see where the pill is or it won't stay in place. I've bought cheaper pill cutters and more expensive ones that were a waste of money. I recommend this one. It works!

Overall this is a pretty good item for my purposes, but there are pros and cons. I chose this cutter because I've been looking for one that doesn't have the safety guards - it's easy to accidentally get the piece of the pill trapped in the safety guard when you open it. This one works pretty well for my purposes in terms of being sharp and cutting cleanly. However, I don't need to cut them perfectly in half, and I know that's a deal breaker for a lot of folks. The pills I take are also very hard, so the cutter is able to cut cleanly through them, even all the way down into super small pieces. However, the lack of "padding" on the cutting surface (usually silicone) means that the pill does slide around a lot, and pieces even flip out onto the floor if you open it too fast. Even though I don't have to worry about it being cut perfectly in half, sometimes it slips to the point where only a tiny part of the edge gets shaved off. Ironically, even though it's slippery, it's very hard to turn the pill 90 degrees if you're trying to cut into quarters. Lastly, there are two compartments, but both are so small/narrow it's really hard to get the pieces out. You can turn it upside down to let them fall into your hand, but that means if you are using one of them for storage, those pills come out as well, creating a bit of a mess and more likely to spill the whole thing. This does the job and will work for the moment, but unfortunately it looks like I'm still on the hunt for one that works best for me (with a silicone surface, no blade guard, and no extra compartments.)

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This one works great - don't ever waste your money buying one that has protective blade gaurds, options for doing capsule-shaped, etc. Those are horrid and don't split well. This one is great, I can sit, watch TV and split and entire bottle easily and efficiently (rather than do it on a daily basis). This is the one to buy -simple, easy, good design and it works.

I have two of these. One for my morning medications that need to be cut in half and stored in this container, and another for my evening medications that need to be cut in half and stored in this container. I wrote a M for morning, and E for evening on the top of the containers, so I know which ones I take in the morning, and which ones I take in the evening.

Another bad pill cutter. I just bought two more, we’ll see how they work. This one doesn’t cut in half, more like 25/75. You would think such a simple devise would work. Dull blades and poor workmanship don’t make for a good pill cutter.

Works perfectly, you don't need to apply a load of pressure to split the pill. I've split two pills a small round one and a large round one and it split them with no problem. You slide the pill between the triangle and then simply close the lid and once you open it the pills split the two storage compartments are great as when I used to use a knife to split them I'd end up losing the other half. Well work the money.

This pill cutter is pretty good at what it does, though a part of me wishes the part that 'holds' the pill was made of rubber instead of hard plastic. While it hasn't been a big enough issue to give it lower stars, sometimes the pill does move slightly on its own accord, meaning it doesn't always cut in half the way you would want it. Once you're aware of this, you can slowly move the blade down so it puts some pressure and then complete the cut. So keep that in mind.

Brilliant product. Splits even the smallest pill. Just remember to position the pill correctly.
