ComfyMed Premium Quality Back Brace CM-102M with Removable Lumbar Pad for Lower Back Pain Relief (LGE 38"-50" Belly)

This is my 3rd back brace, the first being inadequate and the second being a Futuro that was adequate but became inadequate as my lower back got worse. I find the ComfyMed has an excellent width that covers me from about L5/S1 to perhaps T1/T2 supporting my whole lumbar sacral spine. The support is firm and can be made very firm. It is comfortable and I can easily wear it for the maximum time recommended. I find the removable lumbar pad can be easily adjusted to give additional support to the specific area that hurts the most. I'm grateful to have found this. I will admit that it smelled pretty strongly of warm plastic (?) when removed from the package but that was resolved to a great extent by washing and airing before wearing. I anticipate that the second washing will resolve the odor issue completely. I am 71 years old, am 6'2'' tall, weigh 226 lbs, and have experienced lower back pain, at times disabling, since age 22. I wish I'd found this brace decades ago, if it had been made back then.

I have lumbar radiculopathy which is very painful. This condition ended me up in the ER. Our insurance changed and a surgery copay to fix this would be way too expensive. I decided that I wanted to approach this conservatively. Please note that the night before this arrived, I was in a lot of pain. I asked for fast shipping so I could get this fast. When it arrived, I put it on. This back brace is high quality. I would not wear it next to the skin. I put a tshirt on and then put the brace on top of that. It wraps around back to front and stays with velcro, and then there are two rings in the front where you can adjust the tightness. Within just a few minutes of wearing it, the pain was down. Typically due to this condition I have not had good luck riding in cars, because the vibration of the road bothers my spine. Not so with the brace. I was able to drive 7 miles from my rural home into town and back home and the pain was way down. Almost imperceptible. When I took it off at night because you can't sleep with it at night, the pain was back. However, my physician prescribed pain reliever for overnight that works. The bottom line is that I, a patient with lumbar radiculopathy with some pretty bad pain, now view this brace as a partner in my conservative management of this condition. With my condition, my doctor advised against surgery. He saw the brace and said "that's a good thing to do". So I have his consent. Check with your doctor after you buy it. They are getting 5 stars because this is not flimsy. You can tell it is high quality and probably if this was durable medical equipment, it would cost 10 times as much. Let's just say they manufactured it like it should cost a lot more. I am very, very pleased with this product and it has truly helped my quality of life. They get an A plus!

Having problems w lumbar disc and nerve issues. This provided some relief for acute issues, made it possible for me to go to work (tech job, not physically demanding). As physical therapy helps me improve, I use this when seated, standing, or walking at work, 8-10 hours a day (removing it every 2-3 hours). I removed the lumbar insert, as I found it uncomfortable for the sensitive area; should be fine for regular support. It also helped me be more comfortable while standing for most of the day, but it does not totally prevent discomfort from underlying issues. This is not sexy, but it is cool, light, and comfortable. The front flap is wide enough to stay put even when seated, but it will slide a bit or fold, especially if you have a gut.

Just received this today. I have to say this is one of the most comfortable back braces I've had in a long time. Nice sturdy velcro on main part with lots of flexibility and MORE velcro to attach with the metal loops. I have been wearing this under my shirt now for over 4 hours. Although I feel slightly itchy (who wouldn't for that length of time), I feel like I could wear it for 4 more hours. Some of the reviews I've read complained about the size not being right and the brace being too bulky. It is NOT bulky and if you order the right size, you should get the right size. I have a 36" waist and the chart shows that a regular or medium is recommended. I ordered the large instead and the brace feels quite snug. You can control how much pressure you want by the elasticity of the straps. I am also quite comfortable while sitting down. Does relieve it relieve all your pain? No; but it helps alleviate it. If you want a good back brace a cut above the rest, this is the one!

This wrap is amazing! Works great and it’s very supportive and comfortable. It’s a little hard to sit with it. I have to slide it back down. It is sturdy and doesn’t roll at all. I am obese and most of my weight is in my stomach. I’m shaped like an apple. The brace fits me. I ordered the largest one and it barely attaches the Velcro ends to each other but what little holds, it holds tight. The second strap has metal D rings that you pull from your sides to the front and it attaches with Velcro. I can feel the support right away. This is the only brace I have found that doesn’t roll down from the top in the front or the sides. It is very well made!

I am not as satisfied with this product as I warned to be. I have 2 herniated discs and a degeneration in one after an accident. I wanted a brace that gave me adequate support while I strengthen my core and can be there for me before and after surgery. At least for me it's not stable enough. Now I am 6' 1" and have blown up to 255 lbs since my accident. Maybe I'm too much for this brace. It does, however, provide some support and it's quite easy to use. I wear it under my clothes and have major issues with it looking bad or sticking out. Straps work well and the construction seems solid. I will need a different brace for me, but will keep this one for use if and once I get much better and/or for my wife.

my back support belt (Comfy Med )arrived on time it seems to be a strong well made product really comfortable design and gives my disk protrusion or slipped disk if you like really good support it has a removable pad which allows me to apply pressure where I need it....yes I'm very impressed. thank you Reg

I admit I was a bit sceptical looking at back braces, I`ve been caught out before with aids that supposedly help relieve back trouble. Well folks, I`m happy to say that in this case, my scepticism was unproven. This back brace ROCKS! I`ve suffered from several herniated discs over the last few years, badly enough that`s its really limited my life style. I normally spend the majority of each day lying flat on the bed. I cannot sit for long or the back locks up and the muscles are rock hard. Last year I had back spasms so bad I thought my spine was going to snap. That gives you an inclination as to how trashed my back is. So when my brace arrived today (after a nice speedy delivery), I decided to waste no time in putting on. It was pretty straight forward to adjust the tightness of the belt and fastening it together using the D rings was a cinch. After half an hour or so I was disappointed to feel no difference.But then I tried the belt higher up so the front was around the belly button and voila! I could feel the difference right away. The pain receded from my usual " i can`t stand up straight" to " I flying around the house!". All I could feel was a faint trace of the previously quite moderate pain level. The Brace felt comfortable and with just a nice level of rigidness without being too limiting or intrusive. The reason the brace failed to do much the first time I tried it on, was down to me having it way too low. Because my disc pain radiates to just above the bum, I made the mistake in thinking that`s where the wrecked discs were, but they are obviously higher up. So it obviously helps to make sure you have the brace positioned properly over the affected area! I should also praise ComfyMed for the communications and help. They e-mailed me the instructions before I had even got the brace and then another e-mail on the day it came, offering any help when needed. Thanks Bessie! Not only do ComfyMed supply exactly what they state, their Customer Skills are way better than most Amazon Sellers. If you suffer from bad back pain, disc problems etc. and struggle to function at a normal level, I cannot recommend this brace enough. This simple item has done more for my back in getting me mobile and reducing pain, than chiropractors or physiotherapists have done! I had resigned myself to being prone in the long term future, but I`ll be walking the dogs tomorrow and trying each day to improve my mobility periods. Heartily endorsed!

Great quality and flexibility. I bought this for my wife and she says she is very happy with it. It’s easy to put on and can nicely and discretely be worn under your jacket etc.

My husband has a fractured disc in his lower back. He was loosing mobility and in pain. The support is helping him to keep on walking dIly, and provides some pain relief.. not a cure, but is helping his condition.

The girdle is useful but the plastic supports came off after a month.
