It's a hum bucker and also the whole point of it - to be able to fit a humbucker in a single coil slot. Also, that pickup sounds great!

Normally, humbuckers run best on 500k pots, have anyone changed theirs for this or just kept it at 250k, like most single coil?

You statement is correct, but it's a matter of sound preference based on research. I plan on using 500K pots. I may also switch in a 470k resister to get the optimal effect when switching to single coil mode. Lots of options based on the sound you are looking for. Google is your friend.
