Update: After one year and 350 hours of play time this is my speaker. I think mine has brightened up some since I first made the purchase. Don't judge this speaker right away. It takes a long time to break in. I will be getting one more for stereo sound. Guitar sounds really good clean and with distortion. Can be used for keys too. I have tried this against a EVM12L and the Eminence EM12. It is very similar to both of them. For metal or additional high and mids mix with a V30 or similar in a 2x12; it really adds the heavy to your tone. Original Post: Speaker seems well built, a little heavier, but not much. I really don't notice the extra five pounds. I just finished playing the Delta Pro for about 4 hours. Thing can move some air. Bass and drums sounded really good for the brief time I played recorded music with it, though I will be mostly using this with guitar. I have always wanted to try a EVM12L, but the price, no. I am using the Delta in a 1x12 Mesa Boogie recto sealed cab. Amplifier is a Mesa Boogie Stereo 2:Fifty. So far so good, sounds great, really clear sound. Speaker is really good with guitar, but not great. With some amps I can see not being able to cut through the mix live, though for loud practice or solo this would be great. Delta has a lack of high end when compared a matching cabinet with a Celestion V30. I have to turn up the presence quite a bit to get the Delta to match the high end of the V30. Over all I like the Delta more than the V30, the Delta is clearer, sounds seem more defined and detailed, no muddy sound where you don't want them. I never really liked the V30 when that is only speaker. Overall I think the Delta Pro will be a keeper for me when mixed with another speaker. I think I will try matching it with the Eminence EM12, or may keep the V30; I was surprised how well the the Delta mixes with the V30.

This thing ROCKS! With it's 6.7mm of xmax(excursion) this thing acts like an high efficient woofer. I have this woofer in a 6.1 Cuf3 cab, vented, tuned to 36hz and it sounds amazing! VERY clean, punchy, and plays all the way down. If you keep a steep lowpass around 30hz(to protect from over excursion), this thing WILL handle 300w+ all day long. The 4ohm impedance is REALLY nice for matching amplifiers. Having 4ohms instead of 8ohms really helps in getting more power from your amps. It helps to save you money, not having to buy larger power amps that will push a higher wattage at 8ohms. As far as using it in a 'full range' setup, I have not tried, and it's really not designed for that. This is a true "subwoofer" and it's upper frequency roll off proves that.

My electro voice 15 finally bit the big one, and this speaker cost less than the parts to repair my old one. This thing sounds so awesome, I'm thinking about building a bass cabinet with 4 of these to knock houses off their foundations. Rad! And so cheap!

NO GOOD

SINCE the usable frequencies of a guitar are right in line with this speaker and its dB sensitivity makes it very powerful sounding but tight--not flabby at all. The only thing missing with this speaker is a aluminum voice coil cap and it'd be vintage 60s/70s. The speaker really moves air like the old JBL cones--but not flabby on the bottom end or overly bright needing a diffuser--ala some D-150s. Was amazed at how nicely this worked in a 120 watt tube amplifier. I'd buy again if it had just a tad more top end (aluminum cone cap). Really nice speaker.

Very good product and arrived in time. The perfect replacement for my bass guitar cabinet.
