Great size
Love this wok! Great size and depth to make stir fry for 8 people! Non-stick coating was great and the temperature dial was easy to use. Very easy clean up and would definitely recommend! I love it!

High quality electric wok
Wife and I never owned any form of wok before but decided on an electric, based on other reviewers who claimed the range top variety doesn't get hot enough. The relatively low cost of the Aroma afforded an affordable chance to try wokking. We are so glad we did. The size of this wok is perfect for us. We've fed four adults from one batch of Terriaki salmon stir-fry, seconds included. When it's the two of us, we have enough to refrigerate for another meal. Our meals reheat very well in the microwave. We could've fit even more food in the wok but a couple of preheated (microwaveable, frozen) vegetable packs fit nicely with the meat. This unit heats up fully in about 5 minutes. The indicator light goes out to let you know when your selected temperature has been reached. We cook most meats at 7 or 8, but used 9 for pork because I like it darkened more. We marinate the meat before it goes in. We tend to use more peanut oil than recommended to ensure the meat cooks quickly and completely in 2 minutes. It hasn't bothered the flavor. After two minutes we add the vegetables that we pre-heated. We then drizzle more sauce (soy plus terriaki, sweet and sour, Jack Daniels barbecue, whatever we marinated with) and often sprinkle on some coriander (its lemony flavor is especially great with shrimp and with salmon pieces). The Aroma cools down in 15 minutes or so. It's very easy to wipe clean with a lightly soaped and dampened paper towel. We haven't found the need to place it in the sink for immersion cleaning. We don't use the lid because we don't steam anything, but it's made of heavy glass and has vent openings for when needed. The power cord and controller are unitized and have a squeezeable lever to attach and disconnect it from the wok. We push it in a little farther after the lever has been released because the unit isn't otherwise fully inserted. You'll readily feel this. Given the price we were astonished at the quality of the materials. Who can say how long the cooking surface coating will last -- on this Aroma or on the higher priced brands? At this price and given how much we now enjoy wokking we'll certainly replace it when the time comes with whichever brand and model looks to do the job.

A good cooking tool but...
I like the fact that it's cast iron and has a non stick surface . It has a little weight to it and that's another plus. The bottom is made of a sturdy rubber, and is detachable for easy cleaning. Turned up on high about the third button from the last, it does get nice and hot, and It cooks well. My main issue with it is that it doesn't get but so heated until it's turned up on high, and that took some getting use to especially being cast iron. I expected to be able to feel some heat by placing my hand over it at a lower level but in reality I couldn't feel the heat until I turned it up to a higher heating level up to the third button from the last. The lower heating levels need improvement. Otherwise it's a useful cooking tool in my kitchen.

Non stick
I had one exactly like it a few years ago, and it didn't last long. I’m hoping this will. It gives me the temperature I need to fry outside.

A Wedding Gift
This wok looked good online, arrived in a reasonable time, and looked good out of the box (and a good looking box). Everything appears sturdy. I have an electric wok that I've used for years, but I was planning on giving an electric wok as a wedding gift. Apparently the company that made my old wok no longer makes them so I went online to find another maker. This one looked good. After I took it out of the box, it looks good, and feels good. Everything seems to fit well. And I've just finished by first stir fry and it performed as it should. Now that I know it is a good product, I have just ordered another that will become a wedding gift. -- Stir Fry? Easy and quick to prep all the ingredients Easy and quick to cook all the ingredients. And, easy and quick to clean up afterwards.

Good size. Heats fast and accurately.
The nonstick surface is the best part. Even the stickiest sauces just don't stick. My first meal was General Tso chicken. Yum. Easy clean up.

this wok is very nice to use , as soon as i turn it on , it heat up fast and after cooking my food in the wok , the clean up was very easy , the only disadvantage is the cord , it too bad the cord cannot come off the wok to make clean up in the sink a little easier , otherwise it is an excellent wok

I've had this wok for 5 years now, and it still performs well. The non-stick coating is still in great condition. I use it, on average, about once every two weeks, so roughly 130 times over the past 5 years. I typically cook the equivalent of two portions, and it's an excellent size for that. You might feel cramped if you cook larger amounts. There are basically two ways to use a wok, depending on what you're cooking and how: (1) heat the sides and bottom evenly, so everything cooks at the same time, or (2) heat the bottom and leave the sides cooler, so only what's at the bottom is actively cooking. This wok supports only the latter. If you're looking for a wok that evenly distributes the heat across the entire surface, this isn't the model for you. But if you do the second kind of cooking, this wok works very well. The bottom heats up quite nicely and will efficiently fry up what's in contact with it. I find it very pleasant to use. It cleans well, but it's a bit awkward. First, it's easier to clean if you remove the base. It's fairly simple to do, but it's another step in the process. It's large enough that it's clumsy to turn around as you try to clean as much as possible without getting water into the heating element. Being an electrical appliance, you should never immerse it in water or put it in the dishwasher. Aside from that, the non-stick is very effective and a bit of soapy water and a soft brush will clean well it in no time. The biggest inconvenience is storage. Unless you have very deep cupboards, you'll have to store this somewhere else. You'll also need a fair amount of space to use it. I can't deduct a star for this. It's a 14-inch wok, it will take the space it takes. Do I recommend it? I like it so much that I almost bought a second one in case mine breaks after it's discontinued (as far as I know, it's not discontinued yet). But it doesn't look like it's anywhere near the end of its life. So, yes, I absolutely recommend it, IF you're not looking for a wok that distributes the heat to the sides. If you do need heat along the sides, Breville makes a similar model (BREBEW600XL), but with heating elements in the sides for about twice the price of this one.

NOWHERE in the description did it mention the plug is US and it is 120V. This is not a deal killer for us because we have a step-down converter for my wife's mixer, so we should be okay. AMAZON, WHY ARE YOU SELLING US ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS IN IRELAND AND THE UK?
