It works!!!
I had an upper mount for a rear shock on my F-150 that was stripped. Because of the slickness of the shock shaft I couldn’t get a good enough grip with lock pliers, or by drilling a hole in the shock shaft and trying to immobilize it to torque the nut off. Because of the little space I had to work in (2-3 inches clearance) I couldn’t even get a hack saw blade in at it.After a day and a half of fighting with it. I thought, “hey, a nut splitter?”. To shorten the story I settled on purchasing the Cal-Hawk Nut Splitter Tools because of their reasonable price and decent reviews...not super reviews mind you. It was either 5 stars or much lower. As always with Amazon I only needed to wait less than 24 hours and the tools arrived. It took me 15 minutes to get all my tools laid out, including a chisel to remove the split nut, and about 90 seconds to split the nut. As a tip, make sure you have the shoulder of the tool against the bolt or shoulder of whatever you are getting the nut off. Start slow and use a cheater bar/torque wrench and off it comes. The tool bit had no marks. Looks like new. The nut...not so good.End of the story, a great tool at a great price and you get two sizes, going all the way up to just under 1 inch diameter nuts. There’s a “sample” nut in the package to play with and the big tool split it lickity split.Bravo y’all for picking a great tool to sell.

Good tool combination
Works very well. Split about 10 nuts on a boat trailer. The small splitter is necessary in tight places where the larger one won't fit. Good tool combination.

Not made well at all. I killed the big one the 1st time that I used it. If it we're an impact I would understand, but it broke with a ratchet and brute force. I would spend a few extra to buy quality

Nut Splitters
Nut splitters are very heavy duty and I expect to get many years of service out of them. High quality for a very fair price.

Not useful at all
Tried to split one small 12mm nut that was stripped and the cutting blade on this tool completely deformed as soon as it was tightened down. Barely scratched the surface of the nut and the splitter is now useless. Should have saved my money and just cut it off with the dremel which is what I ended up doing, Save your money and pass on this tool unless the nut you are trying to split is made of plastic.

Nut breaker
Everyonce in a while you have a bolt that is stripped and you can't get of because of rust or someone else being stupid and this is the tool you want to help bust that nut off. Can't wait to use it the help me take an old engine I have apart.

Gets the job done, but could be so much better
Problem #1: This tool cannot split a 1/2" nut without cutting a deep slit into the nut beforehand with a Dremel or similar power tool. Do not try to split a nut of that size or larger without cutting a slit in it first. You will break the tool.Problem #2: The set screw that stops the wedge from rotating is puny, and didn't last through splitting two 1/2" nuts. Once the set screw gives out, the wedge can just spin freely, which makes it really frustrating to use.Problem #3: The wedge is made of steel that isn't very hard. I had to re-sharpen it with a grinder after every 3rd or 4th nut that I split because the edge just got totally blunted.I ended up being able to use this tool to split almost all of the nuts that attach my truck's bed to the frame. It would've gone more smoothly if there was a better anti-rotation feature than the puny set screw, and if the wedge was harder. So, the job got done, and I couldn't have done it without this tool, but it needs serious improvement.
