Strawberry Island-20 Chandler Strawberry Plants (Pack of 20 Roots)

Strawberry island did a stellar job packaging the strawberry plants for shipping, they are all healthy plants, and bigger than I expected.

Beautiful, well-rooted dormant plants arrived in great condition and on time. After a soaking (although they were still hydrated despite shipping), I planted according to instructions. Within a few days, the leaves appeared and now, two weeks in, they're growing very well. The vendor sent two extra plants as a bonus. My extension service recommends this variety for my state, so high hopes for the berries! Very pleased.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS NURSERY!!! They do not honor their "will replace if the roots die" policy. Plus, they make you feel like an idiot when you ask for replacements. Been growing bare root strawberries for 5 seasons, and have had wonderful success. Missed my usual order with the other growers I buy from, so I ordered 20 bare-root Chandler Strawberries from this place. They arrived in a plastic USPS mailer with very little moisture or soil [HOSS and Epic Garden mail theirs in cardboard as plugs]. I soaked the roots, then planted them in my GreenStalk with compost and a little sand as I always do. Three roots gave me leaves, and the other 17 did absolutely nothing! Waited a few days, and not only did the three roots that gave me leaves die, but the others still didn't grow. Took pictures, per Amazon's request, and emailed the nursery to start the guaranteed replacement policy. A total of 5 customer service reps answered my email, giving me 5 different things to do. One sent How-To-Grow slides, two stated they didn't get pictures, and the other two told me the black roots were alive and well. Followed the how-to-slides [basically pulling back the crown to expose it more], waited a week, and still nothing. I sent more pics and requested that they send me replacements. I was told the roots were alive and they would not send replacements....it has now been 8 weeks. Roots are brittle, black, and dead! Requested a refund from Amazon, and was sent a label to send them back to the nursery. It has been 3 weeks, and I have yet to receive my money back or replacements. If I could give this nursery zero stars, I would!! Don't waste your time or money.

Photo is 2 weeks after receiving the bare root plants. It is too cold right now to start them outside. I soaked them for 30 minutes to an hour as I potted them up. They were putting out green growth within a couple of days. They look very healthy. I should have trimmed some of the longer roots as they were longer than my pot depth. But it should be fine as I will have them transplanted outside in a month. Very happy so far. Also, I received three extra plants with no loss.

15 good rooted plants out of 20 in order. most showed green leaven in few days after planted correctly. then with in a couple weeks most dyed. my cousin had the same happen with his order at bout same time line.

These were great plants, and they are thriving.

I could not have received a better outcome! These strawberry plants came as fresh as I could have expected. The root systems are vey developed. All of them are thriving now and putting on multiple leaf's. Now lets see if they can handle the heat of south Florida.

i ordered 40 bare root plants, 20 was good , but the other 20 was rotted and had a fungus on them was not able to plant. the roots was not that great and quality not great.
