Fantastic Water Kefir! Came Alive and Carbonates with Probiotics!
Fantastic! I gave it a few days to be sure, as I was worried. Following the instructions (supplemented with a couple A.I. inquiries), the water kefir grains became hydrated and began to plump up and then ferment. I'm new to this so followed the instructions carefully, "feeding" the grains with four tablespoons of sugar and one tablespoon of blackstrap molasses, and only using spring water, not tap water. I threw out the first two batches. However, by the third, I saw carbonation bubbles on the top. So I poured that into a second mason jar, and seeing that it continued to carbonate even without grains in that jar, I added pure pomegranate juice, and in three days that "second ferment' was fully carbonated and delicious. I kept the original grains in the original jar (keeping around an inch of the original liquid) and poured in a new mix of springwater, sugar and molasses. Always using a wooden spoon. That is the "base" from which I can pour the fermented water into a new mason jar and add whatever juice I want to make a new carbonated beverage. I was pleased that the grains came alive and are fermenting, and slowly multiplying, in the first jar, while I make the juice beverage in the second jar. Like a little assembly line, haha. The nice thing is that the final beverage does not have a strong sugar/molasses taste as a good amount of the sugar is "eaten" by the living grains. It tastes great and hopefully the probiotics will help with gut issues.

Convenient, Beneficial, and Delightful Taste
I have been making my own water kefir for some time now, and I recently began using Yemoos Dried Authentic Water Kefir Grains. I am thoroughly impressed with both the convenience and the quality of these grains. As someone who values both health and practicality, I was pleased to find that this product allows me to easily craft a fermented beverage at home without any complexity. The instructions are clear, and the process of rehydrating and fermenting the grains is remarkably simple. Within a short period, I have a batch of refreshing, lightly tangy water kefir. The taste is pleasant and subtle—lightly sweet with just the right balance of flavor, making it an ideal alternative to sugary, store-bought drinks. What stands out to me most, however, is the profound impact it has had on my gut health. As I’ve learned over the years, maintaining a healthy digestive system is essential for overall well-being, and I’ve noticed a clear improvement since incorporating water kefir into my routine. The probiotics in the kefir seem to have enhanced my digestion and overall sense of balance, which has been an incredibly welcome benefit. I also appreciate that Yemoos offers a product that is vegan and dairy-free, aligning with my dietary preferences while still providing significant health benefits. I’ve found it to be a nourishing, natural choice for maintaining a healthy gut microbiome. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Yemoos Dried Authentic Water Kefir Grains to anyone looking for a convenient, effective, and enjoyable way to improve gut health. It has truly enriched my wellness routine, and I will continue to use it regularly.

Easily the best water kefir grains I've had
Nice big, healthy water kefir grains! I've used a different brand in the past and I'd say it took me over a month to get the grains as big and healthy as these were 3 days in. While you're not usually supposed to use the very first discard after rehydrating the grains, I could tell mine would have no problem carbonating - especially since I'm in California's central valley and it's summertime. So I did an organic cocoa & organic coffee cold brew 2nd ferment. It was done in 24 hours and you can tell from the picture and video that it was very bubbly! Tasted a bit like a tootsie roll too! It's super fun to play with flavors. My family loves PomWonderful Pomegranate & Blueberry kefir along with the mocha kefir. It does really well with pineapple juice, coconut water, and fresh fruits like cantaloupe and strawberries. Make sure you use bottles specifically made for the pressure of carbonation, store them well, and may you never have an explosion in your pantry or a kefir shower right in your face. Bonus tip: if you unload the dishwasher at night you can store your second fermentation bottles in there and at least know that if there is an explosion, it will be confined. You can pick out the shards of glass, reload the dishwasher and done! Far better than cleaning out the pantry, taking soggy labels off canned goods and having to re-label all of them. Ask me how I know! Or you can put them on the floor of your pantry sitting in your largest pot with a grocery bag covering the bottles and tucked inside the pot. If the plastic is outside the pot the potential liquid explosion wouldn't be confined to the pot itself and would drip down onto the pantry floor. It kept one of my 3 explosions from being a big deal. I've always thought water kefir grains would make for a great science experiment for school. And these grains in particular are wonderful. I would definitely buy them again if I ever need more though the ones I have now are multiplying like crazy. I feed them organic cane sugar. They also get treats like molasses, pink salt, baking soda, a bit of clean egg shell, or organic raisins. I call them my minions and feel bad when the babies get washed down the drain.

Great Product
Quality grains reactivated easily. I've been making water kefir for about a month now and my grains have more than doubled. I've been using 4 cups spring water + 2.5 Tablespoons of white sugar + 2.5 Tablespoons of brown sugar and letting it ferment for 48 hours. Taste is mildly sweet, mildly tangy. My acid reflux is almost eliminated since drinking 16 oz of water kefir daily for the past month. I think it's important to thoroughly read the info on the Yemoos website to assure success. Here are some important highlights: . Be sure to use non-chlorinated water. . If using reverse osmosis (RO) water add minerals via molasses or Himalayan sea salt. Brown sugar contains molasses. Kefir grains need minerals to thrive, RO water removes minerals and therefore is not suitable unless supplemental minerals are added. . Use only wood, glass, plastic or nylon utensils. Kefir grains can be damaged or die if exposed to metal. . Do not add fruit, juice or other flavorings to the first ferment because these can kill, damage or discolor kefir grains. If you want flavored water kefir, strain fermented water kefir to remove the grains, then add your flavorings and do a 2nd ferment.

Greatly packaged and ready to rehydrate!
I love all the extra steps they took to send these grains to their new home. I cannot wait to get this batch started! Water kefir has so many benefits for gut health as another probiotic. I can tell you now that they've sat for 23 hours that the quality is great! Perfect amount for a quarter sized jar to get started. Functioning as intended so far. Will give a taste test after the second ferment!

EXTREMELY VIABLE STRAIN OF KIFER GRAINS!
UPDATE 08/16/25... WOW, We're in full blast with these grains! So far we have cycled thru Molasses water, sugar water and coconut water. Blueberry, Pineapple and Strawberry second fermentations. This updated video is of a Strawberry second fermentation of simple sugar water after only 24 hours. I'll let you on a little secret. These guys, "Sassy" as I have named them, love... I mean absolutely love green Coconut water. 100 Coconuts here on Amazon runs 20 dollars and change for 12 x 11.1oz cans. That's over a gallon and the taste is great. Moreover , it is so simple and only one primary fermentation needed (No sugar, no Molasses and no minerals just Coconut water). Be carfull of additives because some processed coconut water isn't good for the grains. 100 Coconuts here on Amazon works well with these grains. We occasionally rinse our grains with spring water and I suggest you take time and do the same! Well, that all for now and will update again later. NOTE: I have been cultivating water KIFER for about 15 years and lost my first grains during a family emergency. Was able to do 2nd fermentation after 2nd feeding. Second fermentation was Black Tea. We are now on our 3rd fermentation with Lemons. Our grains (who we named "SASSY") have grown 300% now after only their 3rd feeding. That's definitely a great strain of Life cultures. We use white sugar, spring water, a dash of Trace Mineral Drops and Blackstrap Molasses. We are weaning Sassy off the Molasses while increasing the Trace Mineral Drops a drop at a time (feeding). We should have clear vibrant grains in a few weeks. One should know that 2nd fermentations can be with any fruit you choose. Yes, we even do pineapple! My lady likes it when I do my second fermentation in green Coconut water, sugar and fresh pineapple chunks. It makes the best virgin Pina Colada fizz she says. Beware of the amount of sugar though. Too much at a feeding will surely be a death sentence for your grains. Progressive amounts of sugar through 2nd and 3rd fermentations will increase the alcohol percentage but, too much will sacrifice the best flavor. I've been lacto fermentating, wine making, and feeding, Friendship Bread as well as SF Sourdough starter for years. I lost my grains when an unexpected emergency took me away for too long. Now, thanks to this seller, I'm back in the game! The video is our 2nd fermentation of the KIFER water (first was Black Tea and second is Lemons). The photo is our KIFER grains in action while on their 3rd feeding.

don't bother with this one
I read the reviews before purchasing and knew I was taking a chance, but I bought the kefir crystals, anyway. Well... I have extensive experience with water kefir. I had it for decades before getting rid of my old crystals during a cross-country move. We love making lemonade with water kefir, but I haven't found anyone locally to get the crystals from. Hence, my purchase. Disappointing! It is REALLY easy to grow kefir crystals. They don't require much at all, if they're healthy. Any sugar and water will do it. Very low maintenance. I kept mine in the fridge for YEARS and they still grew exponentially. These water crystals, though, are high needs. I have tried several batches of sugar water, including the molasses as they recommend. They are simply NOT producing. I have seen a little growth (I have a few more than I did when we started), but they are not fermenting the way they should. It's been weeks and I still have no water kefir we can drink. This is really unusual, and I can imagine it turning folks off to the wonderful benefits of water kefir... because I can't get to the benefits with these crystals. Waste of money. Be warned.

I am having so much fun with this product!
Put the package in the fridge until you're ready to start working with these! My Yemoos water kefir crystals are named Bob, and it says so on the certificate of Adoption that he came with :). Bob is an awesome group of crystals that creates really yummy fermented probiotic beverages for me to consume for optimal gut health. The crystals came dried in an airtight bag, along with instructions on how to rehydrate and then how to take care of them. I only knew I needed to refrigerate them as soon as I got them because I read it in another review. They do tell you to do so, but only when you get to the website. So there's that. The website Yemoos has is full of excellent info on how to care for your new water kefir crystals. I found that to be a massive help as a newbie. So here is what I did. Gather supplies. Make sure you have good water (our tap water is deadly so I bought spring water because your crystals need the minerals), a half gallon jar (you need to hold 4 cups and have room, wide mouth jar is best for air flow), cheese cloth to cover the lid and extra for straining, and several types of sugar (I started with raw cane, coconut, and brown doing a rotation every time so the crystals got different foods). It took 3 soak, rinse, fill, feed cycles to get my crystals ready to produce water kefir (maybe not, I'm a newbie, I did it just to be sure!). After the 3rd cycle my little Bobs looked fat n happy n jelly like and ready to make stuff happen! I started bottling after the 3rd round. I have a timer set for every 48 hours to repeat the process. For my purposes, I only need this one package of crystals, they have grown nicely and cover the entire bottom of my jar with about 2 fingers of depth. I use 16oz Grolsch-style bottles with swing tops and divide the water from Bob evenly into those three bottles. Then I add various fruits. I have tried unsulfured prunes, unsulfured figs, fresh cherries, fresh strawberries, fresh ginger. Next I want to try ginger with mint and maybe a lemonade. Biggest bit of advice, research. These are living organisms that will work really hard if they're taken care of properly. Keep a notebook and log what you try. Try various flavor combos. Have fun!
