This doesn't come with Dolby or DTS certification, but for £75 this is a great upgrade to TV speakers. You will need to purchase a cable to connect to your TV as one isn't provided. If your TV has an HDMI port with ARC or eARC labeled against it then connect to that, otherwise connect via an optical cable, neither option should set you back much more than £5. The room that this is in is about 5m square and it fills it comfortably. The sound quality is decent, but you would have to spend more than double for something better really. I wasn't expecting much from the tiny base unit, but it's perfect for deep rumbles and just adds something that your TV will never be able to compete with. There is no screen to indicate what is going on, so there's a learning curve to the flashing coloured LED indicator (keep the manual handy). EQ: Movie mode, News mode (for dialogue), Music mode and Custom mode... all are distinct enough and fit for purpose. Overall, this product will elevate your movie watching experience and offer you a another way to Bluetooth your music/podcasts. If you experience lag between people speaking and the audio you hear, try turning off any 'special audio' features from your TV settings and let the soundbar do the computing work.

As other reviewers mentioned, irritatingly, the unit is not supplied with connecting leads so as Amazon recommended an optical lead I purchase this at the same time. After some considerable frustration I found that an HDMI cable was needed to connect to my TV, and not the optical cable. I have returned the optical cable and it now all works well. Although the sub-woofer is connected to the TV via Bluetooth, the unit still needs to be connected to a mains power supply, so it is not strictly wireless. The sound bar fits neatly under my Samsung 43" Smart TV. The remote control is a bit fiddly but basic controls operate via the TV remote, so it is only needed to set the various equalizer settings. Overall I am very happy with the SHARP HT-SBW182 soundbar.

Easy to set up from the box! Connects to the sub without any wires, comes with no hdmi cable (not a problem I bought one separately) but can connect to your tv via bluetooth. Sounds clear coming through the speakers and you can feel the base that comes through the sub, would highly recommend.

If you are looking to upgrade your TV sound this is just good. If you place the subwoofer away from TV you might feel a cinema experience however don't expect the subwoofer to be the loadest because of the size but it is good enough to enjoy a movie and no to make angry your neighbors with noise. What I did not like was that my unit come without any sound cables. For this price Shark should include at least a HDMI cable to make people happy and ready to go . luckily I had one and I was able to mount the unit but I was very disappointed it didn't came with one.

Been using this now for almost an year now. The main speaker is connected to my TV via an Optical cable. The subwoofer unit is placed at least 11-12 feet away diagonally from the speaker and connects-pairs-works excellently over Bluetooth. Subwoofer unit also requires a separate power source. Downside of the soundbar- 'Apparently' when connected via Optical cable it doesn't augment the TV's own volume rather has a slight lag, so gives a very bad echo effect. Resultantly, we have to mute the TV vol. when using this soundbar (which we do only when watching movies or music-vids.). I didn't connect this one with an HDMI cable, but feel it might work in sync with the TV's own speaker vol.

First off it's quite noticable how light the soundbar and sub-woofer is compared to others in a similar price range and it dosen't feel as high quality as it looks or like others in a similar price range. the sound quality is pretty good and the sub-woofer quite effective with nice bass which is probably the most important thing, and the subwoofer connected wirelessly with no issues, the pre-set sound settings are also pretty good when using ARC so it deserves credit there but I deducted stars and cannot recommend it due to a couple of other issues which for me were deal breakers and mean't I returned it for a refund. 1. There is only 1 HDMI port on the soundbar, and as it must be connected to a HDMI ARC port on the TV as the ARC function doesn't work (on my TV anyway - Hisense U7A 50") if you plug this soundbar into another device first (even if it has the HDMI CEC setting), then connect that device to the TV HDMI ARC, so if you want to use the ARC function this is an issue as there is no way to plug another device into the soundbar first and use passthrough to the TV unlike with a soundbar with 2 or more HDMI ports where another device can be connected to the soundbar and it passes through to the TV. In this case the only option is to use the optical connection, but then you don't have the advantage of the ARC function and the sound quality isn't as good (in my opinion having tried it as the equalizer settings don't seem to do anything). 2. The remote isn't very responsive and with the lack of an LED display on the soundbar it's very easy to pass what function you want to use especially as the lights aren't easy to distinguish and getting the right volume level can be a chore as it goes up and down in increments of 2 and there is no indicator on the soundbar, with the only way to get a volume level indicator on the TV is if you connect using ARC, otherwise it is just guesswork when using optical. Actually even using the TV remote when using ARC or a programable remote like the Harmony Elite makes no difference so the sluggishness issue must be in the soundbar not the remote.

Sound volume underwhelming. Lip sync and Audio delay issues. Tried HDMI and Opital and final solution was Optical via Ski Q box with advanced audio delay settings but now I can't use the smart apps on my TV. Spent many hours trying to get TV and Sound bar speakers working together without one of the audio streams going out of sync. Tried various different configurations of both Optical and HDMI with and without ARM and with and without audio delay. If your looking to hook this up to a Video based system (aka TV or Projector) - rather spend more and go with a better brand with better AV processing electronics. If your looking for a Bluetooth or audio only solution it's not to bad.

its great, easy to use, looks good, sounds good, but it is not 'wireless'. Not even for a second can you run either of the boxes without them plugged into a wall socket. You can connect audio souce via bluetooth and there is no audio cable between the woofer and the main bar, but since both have to have a mains cable plugged into them i would not call it wiresless. Perhaps i should have realised that from the description, but it wasnt obvious. [of course at 160W you cannot expect to run long off a batter anway].
