Not for extended use!
These might work in the short term, like a day in the rain, but they degrade and make a mess on the finish of the firearm if left for any length of time. I've got a couple of BPS shotguns that I keep stashed in outbuildings and I wanted something that would keep insects, etc. from getting into the barrel. Came back a couple of months after putting the muzzle covers on and found they'd basically 'melted' onto the finish. I've soaked the barrels in solvent for weeks and the stuff refuses even to soften. As a last resort I'm going to scrape this crap off even if it messes up the finish.

Easy to install
Pros: Versatile will adjust to fit just about any muzzle. I've had them on ARs, muzzle loaders, my 06, and a Mini 30. Easy to install. Hole in the end doesn't trap fluids. You can put a few of them in your kit without taking up any room or adding weight.Cons: Rips very easily. Don't expect to get more than one use out of it if you're in serious woods or bush. If you have a front sight like on a typical hunting rifle, expect it to tear right through. I was able to fit the cap around the front sight and limit the tearing, and it lasted for a couple hunts. I was lucky. Personally, think regular condoms are better, but these are less expensive and black. If you're running an AR with a standard muzzle break, stick with regular plastic muzzle caps. I have them on my cruiser guns at my PD and they last forever, or until you shoot through them. If you have a variety of guns, get these rubbers. I do keep them on our PD shotguns, but they have to be checked for damage frequently. Over all, good, but not great.

Great
Keep out water (necessary on black powder rifles), snow, dirt, dust. Great item. Shoot right through them, although I usually take them off so I don't have to purchase more of them...

TXTactical Rifle Condom-style Muzzle Cover
Fits my CVA .50 cal Accura V2 LR rifle perfectly - just like the ones I paid twice as much for at B.P. I would not hesitate to buy more !

If you think you'll need 'em, buy' em. They work.
Not much to say about these...they fit like a glove over the standard A2 flash hider on my AR-15's...perfect for keeping the muzzle clean and clear while running around the river bottoms hunting hogs. I took a tumble the first time out using one, and it did the job.

Crappy Item
I put these on the barrel of my AR15 and within a few days, it's with holes and brittle. There's no oil on the barrel to corrode the barrel condoms. Don't waste your money, use a finger cot, balloon or something else as a dust cover.

disintegrated onto my barrel...
i needed a muzzle cover for my mossberg 500. put in on the muzzle and put it back behind the door until it was needed type thing. fast forward 8 months... I grab the shotgun to take to the range, and as soon as i pick it up, i see that the plastic has eroded and STUCK TO MY BARREL. potentially damaging it... like it just decayed and then ruined the tip of my barrel. now, it's a shotgun and for home defense. NOT a beauty pageant, but if you have a firearm that's costly or sentimental, or hell. maybe you just don't want it damaged or ruined by cheap plastics... STAY AWAY FROM THESE! BUYER BEWARE!

Gun Barrels Matter!
I use these on my hunting and home defense rifles to ensure nothing gets in the barrel during storage or carrying around the fields.
