Spooky fun, expensive but worth it.
Many moons ago I recall playing the Cthulhu RPG with friends. A lethal game that forgave no mistakes but with a good game keeper made for suspenseful entertainment. So, on the off-chance, as these days we don't always have the time spare to mess about with character creation and setting up an RPG night, I bought this as an alternative. To be honest, I was rather surprised at how well this is put together. The figures are just beautiful, and on the strength of this box I bought the expansions to go with it. I've been itching for free time to get around to painting these things as they are simply gorgeous and would look awesome with a decent paint job. The game itself is easy to learn, easy to play and easy to set up, so perfect for wet weekends or evenings when there's garbage on the box - oh wait, that's most days. erm, Okay, how about when you feel like a change and want to play a game. The game is easy to set up and comes ready made with things to do, beasts to overcome and puzzles to solve. The whole thing moves along at a comfortable pace and it's possible to complete a scenario in a relatively short time. There is as much suspense and horror as you want to put into it, the game is simple, quick and fun. The figures are beautifully designed and made and the whole thing wraps together well. It is a bit on the expensive side, but worth it in my opinion. The game is almost as lethal as the old RPG and mental stability for your investigator is always under threat, but it still lacks something the old game had. Can't quite put my finger on it though. Depth, perhaps? Still, it's a good way to waste time and with four people playing can get quite involved. Another successful outing for the CMoN games company. If they carry on like this, the problem won't be what to do with spare time, but rather which game to play... Ah well, nothing wrong with being spoiled for choice.

Amazing game with awesome minis.
The game is a a fantastic dungeon crawl game set in a lovecraft universe. The box is split into 2 bosses with there cards and tokens and 6 missions that can giving the possibility of 12 combos for mission and bosses. There are 10 unique investigators making for replayability of the game vast. The game is easy to learn and not alot of ai management compared to some games in the genera. The way sanity is used is great where going insane makes you stronger until you hit your limit and basically die. There is plenty flavour text for charictor and missions. The artwork is fantastic. Tge game flows very well and defo worth jumping into.

Cthulhu is gonna get his head kicked in.
This was my segue into the game world of HP. Lovecraft. I bought it for the minis and stayed for the clever episodes that distinguish themselves from each other with clever subtle changes in game mechanics. This though is not a subtle game. It is a brash fun dungeon crawler where you go insane whilst fighting cultists and monsters and finally Cthulhu himself. Or Hastur the king in yellow. There's a second season and two extra Great Old Ones available which makes the game almost infinity replayable. I love it. The base game contains 10 investigators, each suffering from a randomly drawn mental condition that drives them insane. But with insanity comes power to defeat the The Old Ones. It's my new favourite thing and put that together with great mins to paint it's a winner.

Zoomer speak the game.
Premise of the game is good, gameplay is engaging and you can have a lot of fun while doing it. One question though: Did creators ever actually read any of Lovecrafts work? The nonsensical zoomer speak and marvel humour are so out of place it throws you right out of the Lovecraftian mood of unspeakable horror. I had to rewrite most of the manual and made corrections to texts to bring it closer to the source. I suggest that creators revise their work and amend. When the lead motif is “death may die” it is not a “pretty typical evening”, it is not a marvel flick. And the last thing, grammar! Not even anything complicated, just basics. I urge you to revise!
