Revell RV07047 1:24 - Land Rover Series III Plastic Model kit 1/24, Multicolor

Very nicely put together model, a Revell of Germany classic. All parts fits perfect, instructions clear, full of options & somewhat challenging, you'll enjoy it..

I have not attempted to build this kit yet, but the parts are very excellent and highly detailed. It is a interesting kit with lots of options to build.

The Revell Land Rover Series III LWB (Long Wheel Base) is a good challenge for any model builder. It comes with a vast array of detailed parts and a colorful 28 page instruction booklet. There are extra parts that allow this Land Rover to be built with either as a Left or Right hand drive vehicle. The provided decals are appropriate for a number of countries. As you proceed through the instructions and assembly you must pay careful attention to which vehicle you are going to complete. Some of the illustrations showing either the left or right hand construction are a little confusing since they are shown from a different perspective. Just remember the openings for the speed ohmmeter and the tachometer and the gear shift levers should be on the same side as the steering wheel. One of the real pluses for this model is that the multitude of parts are precisely cast and fit nicely into prepared slots. There was virtually no flash noted on any of the parts. I achieved the sage green color by combining Tamiya JN grey with Tamiya Light Blue. I fitted out my model with some of Tamiya’s Military Miniatures. (The scale of the miniatures is 1/35 instead of 1/24 but they seemed to work ok). This excellent model will require some patience and quite a few hours to complete but it was very enjoyable.

I wanted to get back into model building, but wanted something that was not so challenging that I'd get frustrated. While the directions are made for a more European audience, they seem to be easy to follow. The shipper was great to work with and got the model out right away - to the point where it arrived 4 days ahead of schedule.

Very high quality casting of parts. All dimensions are correct and all parts fit correctly. Only when installing the rear wheels is it necessary to put M4 washers under them. Unfortunately, my model was missing some details and some more. But after my letter to Revell Germany, I received an apology and after 3 weeks I received the parts in Australia absolutely free of charge. In my opinion, Revell is the kind of company you can do business with. I have not regretted buying this model.
