Large Print Word Search Puzzles 2

No squinting here ...
This is a second of a series of large print word search puzzles by Mark Danna. I have both the first and this one. The puzzles are interesting, varied, definitely different from other word search puzzles. By adding numbers replacing some words in some puzzles, it makes for some good brain strain to complete the puzzle - and variety is very good for the brain! I didn't have to take off my glasses to complete these puzzles and each contain a hidden message available upon completion of the puzzle. As well, you will see that the puzzles are designed in a variety of layouts. For an example, a rocket shaped grid, a parachute, a Christmas Tree, are just a few examples making this so much fun ... and very interesting. Very well done ... I can't wait until the third series is available! An excellent gift for anyone ... especially those with some vision issues.

great for seniors and others
I bought several word search books for my elderly grandmother. This one was one of the best versions for three reasons. 1) The spiral binding allows it to lay flat. This might sound like a simple thing, but imagine that you're sitting in an easy chair or in bed, with arthritic hands, and not much grip strength. The thick books with normal paperback binding are VERY difficult to hold open that way, and even harder to coordinate circling the words while holding the book open. This makes it so easy. Flip open the book to the page you want, and it stays there! And it stays open to the puzzle you're working on, so it's ready to go after a nap or meal. 2) Big print. I'm not sure why more puzzle books don't come with this option. Most other word search books have tiny print, and the letters blur together for folks with poor vision. 3) Not too difficult. Again, some books are too difficult for the older folks in our life. This seems to strike at a good balance for my 85+ year old grandma.

Money well spent
I think this is their favorite word search book, my loved one that is. I bought them some a few months back and finally got to ask how well they liked them. They couldn't say enough good about the puzzles herein. Their most favorite part is that it's more than a word search, in that each puzzle has the start of a phrase that goes with it and after all the words are found the remaining letters complete the phrase. They've been happily puzzling away every afternoon, one puzzle per day, since they got their books. I would say the cost was money well spent.

good senior wordsearch
i bought this for my grandmother. the print was a good size for her (as she is stubborn and insists that she doesn't need glasses). also, the spiral makes alot easier to hold. her hands have a hard time manipulating a folded-back cover.

Great Puzzle Book
I bought this book for my 92yo grandmother who is in a rehabilitation facility. I was very happy to see that the print is LARGE. I have seen books advertised as jumbo where the print is not as big as it is in this one. She loves it.It is also a bonus that the book is spiral bound so that you do not have to fight with the book to keep it open. You can flip the page over and to the back allowing it to sit flat on a table. As my grandmother has some dexterity issues this was great for her.

Great for those with memory difficulties
Bought for my elderly father who never did word search puzzles. He previously did the Jumble in the newspaper and loved his word a day calendar, but with his memory going he was getting frustrated with those activities. I first bought him a large print crossword book and it was too difficult for him. Tried the Word Search and now he's hooked. We give him a highlighter so he doesn't have to circle. Although he doesn't unscramble the unused letters, he thoroughly enjoys the puzzles and works on them daily.
