PenSeeMens Self Bow Tie Polka Dots Floral Woven Silk Bowties

Love the color and I wore it to church one Sunday and my Sunday school teacher loved it!

Honestly when I bought this I was thinking to myself, "I'll but a cheap bow tie just so I can have something to practice tying." It's 8 bucks, how good can it be compared to the 70 dollar ties I see in the stores (Men's Wearhouse, Dillards, Brooks Brothers, etc.).This thing is every bit as well constructed as the ties ten times its price. The only "problem" is unlike the 70 dollar ties, the adjustment slots do not have a neck size number on them. Oh well, I have an 18" neck, so I know I'll need to use the loosest hole anyway. You folks who have smaller necks might need to do some adjusting to get it exactly right.I got it on. I got it tied, and even with my 18" neck this tie fit perfectly. I was a bit worried that even on the loosest setting I wouldn't have enough tie left to tie, or that it would look silly. NOPE!!! It fits perfectly.If you look closely you will see a swirl pattern. In person you cannot see it at all. This looks like a navy blue tie with a random dot pattern. I had to point it out to my wife with the tie off and under direct light that the tie had a swirl pattern in it.What was initially going to be a toss off practice tie is now my go to first tie off the rack tie. Buy it if you like the pattern. You will not be disappointed--unless your neck is bigger than 18".

First off, not so bad quality of a bow-tie. I've already purchased 5 other PenSee bowties. I'm happy with the purchase I made - cost is not bad and fabric/sewing is so far good and holding up. The material is just about equivalent to the general make up of polyesther long ties.In regards to the incorrect color, this product says "Navy" bowtie. However I received a black bowtie, but with the same design. No problem, a quick email to PenSee and they were more than willing to help rectify the situation. PenSee said they had no more of the navy colored, and offered a replacement. I just chose another tie. My customer-photo will show that it's a black tie, but with same design.I generally buy my shirts with a 17inch neck. My hook setting leaves about 3-4 holes left, which makes me wonder if it can adequately fit larger necks, but this is just my experience - again, I'm quite new to the whole bow-tie arena, so I might not be tying them properly.BTW - as I'm writing this review, I noticed some of the PenSee bowties have gone up in price (from 4.99+ship to 7.99+ship). Not sure if this means all single self-tie bowties are going up in price, but just a forewarning.If I can get a photo up of my bow tie tied up, I will.(PenSee Black and White dot with floral)

I'm not going to say these are the best bowties I have ever worn, but they are very good given that they only cost $5! I bought 8 right away and love them all, they are all different and are a little thin but only people who pay close attention and know about bowties would really notice. I do imagine this will be their downfall in the future but that has yet to happen after about 3 months of use. The shipping does take a little while but much less than the 20 days suggested by the shipping notice, it took them about 2 weeks to get to me which was fine since I was in no hurry to get them. Love the bowties, great quality for the price that cannot be beat!

The material is a bit thin, but I still think it's a great value for the money. I've just got into playing around with bow-ties. And I've had a chance to compare the quality with more premium labels, carried by Macy's. There is a difference in the stitching and rigidity of the material, but one is also paying six times the price. If one wants to experiment with bot-ties, I would strongly recommend this brand. Lastly, the material tapers more aggressively than other ties I've used. This definitely helps when tying the bow.

If you're wearing this bow tie only once, it's an amazing tie. Otherwise, you may want to consider a slightly higher quality. I bought this tie specifically to wear at a wedding. It looked great for the photos and throughout the evening but the next day I noticed that some on the polka dots were coming unraveled. You get what you pay for. And I was very happy with the quality for such a low price.

$30 quality bow tie for $4.99? What's not to like? Be warned that these ties don't have the little size numbers embroidered on the inside, so you hafta guess what you're setting it at, or hold it up to another bow tie to adjust the length. Pensee also sells some for $16.88. Those ties do have the numbers on them and also seem to be made of thicker material. I also get those ties in a day or two instead of 3 weeks, so they must be coming from America instead of China. Still $16 bucks is half the price of what you'll pay in the store.

I love this pattern and the fabric was very nice and doesn't snag easily. There was a loose thread when it arrived, but I snipped it off before wrapping it up and giving it to my boyfriend. He likes it a lot too and has worn it about a half-dozen times without the fabric fraying or other threads coming loose. Both our hands are kinda rough, but the textured design hasn't snagged while being tied. The fabric isn't very stiff, but it's thick and holds up well once it's tied.

Great colour and it ties well. Price was right and it looks great on. Makes such a change from the usual ties.
