DON'T FOLLOW SELLER INSTRUCTIONS FOR CALLIBRATING
So when I first tried to use these they wouldn't work at all. My main problem turned out to be not having a common ground because I had different power sources for my Arduino controller and the ESC's/Motors. They all work great and don't seem to have any heating issues yet. Used with 935kv motors and 3S battery, working well so far FOR CALLIBRATING: 1. Have motor/reciever sending data 2. Throttle up to full 3. Power the ESC/Motor 3. You should hear 3 D's (means getting power) followed by 1 D (means getting HIGH signal) 4. Lower throttle to the minimum 5. You should hear 2 D's -- after that you should be good to throttle up

Ok but tricky
I initially left a bad review, because after connecting this to an Arduino and trying to activate a motor with a basic servo sketch, it did nothing other than make the ESC beep. Then I did some more research and learned these ESCs have a startup routine needed to "arm" them, AND that I needed to power cycle the ESC after each Arduino update. After doing both of those, then my servo sketch worked.

gets hot when powered and left idle likely due to poorly tuned drag brake feature.
I got these escs for flitefest combat expecting them to be damaged during use. upon first powering them I noticed after only 30 seconds of being powered up (not even throttling them up) they were getting really hot to the touch, I unplugged them and let them cool down then calibrated them thinking that might solve the issue. well it didnt. I decided to fly them anyway (I was not worried about crashing a plane meant to go in combat anyway) and to my surprise I did not burst into flames and they landed even cooler than they were on take off. I noticed that the escs were set with high drag brake (motors are stopped when throttled down) I think the over heating issue comes from that drag brake not deactivating when the motors are sitting idle. I would only recommend these escs for use on planes/projects you dont care about I could see an inexperienced person getting these and burning something up. please buy with caution and keep good air flow over them they get hot when idle.

Complete junk! Don’t waste your money
I have been through four of these now, and don’t ask me why I have ordered so many after having so much trouble! Two of them burned out for no apparent reason, likely they are way overrated by their amperage. The other two caused some type of voltage transient, resulting in multiple plane crashes. The whole time I suspected faulty receivers, servos, etc.. After changing them all out and still dealing with the same problem, I switched out ESC’s. Miraculously, no problems! I don’t know how an ESC can cause so many issues, but between the interference and the outright failures, I am zero for four, and many, many lost hours trying to troubleshoot. I can’t steer you away from this product strongly enough!

I am going to go out on a limb and say these are highly over rated in the actual amps they can handle.

They seem to work ok, however, one unit was dead on arrival.
