Amul 99% cacao chocolate,,,highly recommended.
Amul 99% cacao is the best dark/bitter chocolate available in India... excellent innovation by Amul. I may tell that I am not endorsing Amul or any other brand...just my own opinions. It has been proven that cacao is one of the healthiest superfoods on earth with amazing health benefits. It's full of antioxidants & flavonoids which increase lifespan. It's one of the highest sources of nitric oxide which dilates/widens & relaxes blood vessels of the body by reducing blockages, thereby supporting heart & brain health. Cacao is also anti inflammatory and anti carcinogenic, thus reduces cancer risk. Moreover, cacao is a natural blood thinner, so can prevent blood clots, reduce blood cholesterol & blood sugar and lower blood pressure. Overall Amul dark cacao chocolate has enormous health benefits...so we must be thankful to Amul for making such an awesome health food. Please ignore the negative and one star rated reviews as those people are ignorant and lack awareness. Requesting all the sugar lovers...please don't defame such a nice and healthy product by giving negative ratings and one star. I pity those innocent sweet toothed people which focus on tongue taste rather than general health. Again, I am not promoting Amul company or a representative of the same, these are my personal views & experience. Those who want to enhance quality of life and reduce onset of lifestyle/genetic diseases like cancer, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart attacks, cardiac arrest, etc must not think twice...just purchase the stuff & enjoy. Infact, Amul 99% Cacao Chocolate is a heavenly bliss with irresistible taste. It is indeed Delightful & Ambrosial. I am giving a five star rating to this authentic product...if there were 10 stars, I would have given full 10/10. Lastly, thanks to Amul & Amazon, too for providing such a nice superfood at my doorstep.

BITTER! But all is not lost
Yeah I saw the 99% cocoa written in big bold letters, read the reviews saying that it's bitter, but STILL bought it because I was stupid enough to think that I can tolerate it. Well, I just couldn't. It was like intentionally torturing yourself. I thought if I kept it in the mouth long enough, the cocoa butter would melt, and make things better. But it was bitter through and through and through! Well, I didn't just want to throw away the whole thing, so I thought of an idea. Heated up some water in a small vessel and added this chocolate in it piece by piece. Then I added around 3 tbsp of coconut sugar to it and mixed it all together. That's only around 37 to 40 g of sugar for the whole thing, which I'll be consuming over several days. Plus coconut sugar has low glycemic index anyway. Well, it turned out better than I expected. It honestly tasted pretty good. Still was a little bitter but this is dark chocolate after all. I think I'm going to make this a regular thing! I know I could just buy 70% dark chocolate which has sugar added, but there was around 60g refined sugar with 190g chocolate making a total of 250g. Here it's 250g chocolate + 40g sugar and we can control what kind of sugar we add.

Nice Choclate.
Nice chocolate with a bitter taste, but if you are used to it, we can only eat one or two bites. It's healthy.

Ultimate chocolate experience
It's the best dark chocolate I've had at such a reasonable price.. What's more it's made by an Indian brand. It beats all other Swiss /Belgian stuff I've tasted. Sometimes I put it in my coffee to make it cafe mocha.. It tastes heavenly. For all those complaining that chocolate had melted and 'deformed', whitish color, it happened with my order once too. But a true chocolate lover doesn't care about shape or color. It tasted the same and i continue to order it. This will definitely remain a staple in my daily diet. Sometimes I just pop in a cube and let it slowly melt,..love the thick rich cocoa buttery feeling. No artificial sweeteners added, which distort the actual taste of chocolate. Warning for the faint hearted... It's bitter, not sweet. Go for it if you appreciate real chocolate taste.

Try it in hot milk
So bitter that I'm pretty sure of its purity. But it was quite sticky. Tasted much better in hot milk without adding any sugar. Ordered during summer but still there was very little melting. Nice handling I guess.

Not a good one but the only option at this price point
I chose to order this item based on the many positive reviews that I had read on amazon. Although there is some apprehension in the back of my mind that this is too good an offer to be true, I went ahead and ordered the item. I got it delivered in 5 days. I was excited to taste it right away. I opened the box. The packaging was pretty good. The two chocolate bars were stacked and wrapped with a cool gel pack. Since this time of the year is relatively cold, the chocolate did not melt and came in good condition. I opened one pack to taste the first piece of Amul 99% Cacao. As the reviews suggested, it is real dark chocolate. The chocolate is bitter with a distinctive texture that only genuine dark chocolate has. I have had dark chocolate of a couple of other good brands and I can say that there is definitely chocolate through and through. But, here comes a big let-down. It has got an off-putting smell. I don't know if it is because of the emulsifiers that are mentioned in the list of ingredients or other essences that are not mentioned on the cover, but there is a complan-like smell that hits your olfactory senses when you smell the chocolate. Ideally, a 99% cacao should smell only of ground cacao beans and they have a mild pleasant aroma. My reference was 85% Lindt chocolate. I tasted both of these items one by one to get a better perspective. I also tasted 99% Lindt some time back which was the best 99% chocolate I have tasted so far. When it comes to taste, the complan-like flavour was overpowering the chocolate flavour on top of the bitterness of the chocolate and it seemed as if I had a bitter pill in my mouth. I had two pieces of this chocolate and realised that I can't have it any more. People are so focused on the bitterness aspect that they tend to forget the flavour part which plays a major role in deciding whether the chocolate is worth its salt. It's a pity that Amul has spoilt the pleasantly bitter taste and sweet aroma of cacao beans by adding some ingredients which make it smell like medicine. I do not recommend chocolate lovers to try this company's chocolate. Try other's which may require you to shell out more but it will be worthwhile.
