Long Term
This unit is the definition of cheap and reliable. Ben using this thing for 6 years now with no complaints and no issues. Really. The thing with this box cutter is it looks and feels cheap at first and is very off putting to those who think you get what you pay for. But that concept still applies, but with a product that never needed to be expensive or complicated at all. It’s a blade, knife, box cutter, safety blade, whatever you want to call it. The ARC is easy to take apart and replace blades and it can’t hold back ups in case your in the field and can’t step away. Do yourself a favor and don’t over complicate the purchase of a box cutter and go for this unit instead.

Works very well. I've this kind of knife since 2016. Only had to replace it because I broke it. My original one was orange not red. But color don't matter. Great knife. Need cheaper blades.

Many Will Hate This Knife But I Love It .
Safety safety safety . We hear it all the time at work but seldom see true safety in action . We see many things that actually add danger to our work day . Box cutters are an example . Older ones leave clumsy oafs such as myself vulnerable to stupid cuts by accident so they came up with this type of knife , which is perfect for me . Well they took a great thing and made it stupid by adding auto retract via pressure . This makes it so if you press too hard (pretty much hard enough to cut tape is too much pressure and it pops back in ) the blade pops back in . After about 100 times trying to cut the same tape on the same box many end up taking the blade out of the knife and holding just the blade to cut . Not good for a clumsy oaf such as myself .I didn't think anybody made these anymore so I'd gone to using a pocket knife to cut tape , string , and plastic bands . I happened to see these and how dirt cheap they still are and grabbed 2 . One thing they've added that I like (and many will hate ) is a tip inside the blade holder that can keep the blade from opening fully , just about 1/4 of the blade comes out . This is perfect for tape and cardboard . If you need more blade the tip inside can be broken off .The one thing that hasn't changed that many find frustrating is the auto retract when you release your thumb . This is my favorite feature to protect me from myself . The blade pops back before I can accidentally cut a finger .It has the typical ergonomics of box cutters from yesteryear but it's a lightweight plastic instead of metal . This makes it more pocket friendly (and it won't cut your pants while in your pocket ) but also more susceptible to damage .It's not the same bright orange of those I was issued at Toys R Us when I worked there but the red is plenty bright to help me find when I forget where I put it .Super low price , excellent usefulness . This was a no brainer for me .

Cheap, but perfect
I love this knife! The following are my reasons:1. The blade retracts automatically. This is done via a plastic spring. While auto-retracting may not seem like a feature at first, let me tell you that it is. I carry this knife in my rear pocket next to my wallet. I can whip it out, cut something, and have it back in my pocket all within a matter of 2 seconds. I absolutely trust that the blade will retract.2. The knife holds blades inside and does not require tools to open. Unlike many other utility knives, this one opens with a simple pressure lock. It is easy, not finicky, and doesn't open when it shouldn't. I am able to always have a sharp blade due to the ability to easily swap blades.3. This knife is cheap! Don't let the price through you off. Yes, the knife is cheap. With that said, it won't break. You will lose the knife before it breaks. And if you lose it, no big deal because it is cheap.Anyway, I love this knife. It is my EDC.

Had one before and loved it
This is just what I was looking for, as I lost my original one. Looked all over for another before finding it here. It's not heavy duty, I have others for that, but the light weight and self-retracting feature are what I wanted. I use it to cut outer sheath of Romex when doing wiring. I find it much easier and faster than standard Romex stripper tool.

Great value!
Works well - sharp blade with rounded corner for safety. Very economical compared to other retractable blade box cutters.
