EXCELLENT PORTABLE DVD PLAYER!
I was very surprised by the high quality of the Wonnie 17.5" dvd player. The large size screen makes watching movies very comfortable for viewing! On smaller portable dvd players, the small screen size makes it look like you're watching movies on an ipad. The picture is sharp and clear, another pleasant surprise. The audio goes up to 20. I listen to it at 10, and it is plenty loud! I got this in blue and it looks very nice. The dvd player is pretty heavy, to support the large screen, as should be expected. It would be pretty big to carry around as a portable, but you can if you don't mind the size.I only tested the battery to 3 hours, so I don't know how long it will actually go on a charge. The remote control works great also. It has a USB port, which is a nice extra. It also has an SD card slot!If someone is bed ridden at home or in a nursing home, this dvd player would be a wonderful gift for them! Children would love it at home or in the car. There is a car charger attachment for that.I have had a few portable dvd players, but this is the best out of all of them.I am extremely pleased with it. I can't think of anything I don't like about it. I highly recommend this Wonnie dvd player!

Large screen portable media player
╔ ■ Price Point / Value: 4.5/5╠ ■ Quality: 4.5/5╠ ■ Picture: 5/5╠ ■ Sound: 4/5╠ ■ Recommendation: 4/5╠ ☼ Overall: 4.5/5╠ ►Product Need: Portable DVD player╠ ►Product Pros: Great for kids, size, HD, memory, battery, warranty╠ ►Considerations: No bluetooth╠ ►My Review: The DVD player is nice as a portable device that the kids can easily watch movies on. It’s about the size of a laptop providing a large 15” DVD screen output in HD quality that plays all types of media files, just without the cost of a laptop. The screen is good quality with ability to swivel. The sound is normal as you would expect using headphones and doesn’t have dolby quality, yet also varies on the original source. The battery is great and can play 2 DVD movies with its 5500mah battery( max 4 hours). I think the best feature of it, is the device picks up where you left off for interrupted playback. It can play a wide variety of media formats which is nice. Overall I am impressed and would recommend anyone looking for a large screen but doesn’t want a laptop price.

Great customer service
One time it works, the next time it doesn’t now can’t get it to play DVD at all. After posting a review, they contacted me to find out what the problem was. When I told them and was able to get it to work sometime. They said they would send me a new one and I did not have to send the old one in. I was very surprised to hear that. You will be surprised at how great it sounds and how high the volume goes. It does have a great picture and the swivel is a great feature. That’s why I am editing my review.

Pretty nice and easily to operate.
I was surprised how well it works. It was for my grand daughter and she likes it but she would be happier with a larger display. But I find the display a pretty decent size. It’s supposed to be compact and easy to carry around and It does everything a bigger one can do.

Nice DVD player!
Purchased this DVD player in order to play DVDS from outside the United States. It is easy to use, has a large screen, and the picture quality is great. It also plays DVDS from the United States. When I view DVDS on this player I place it on a table or on my lap. When using it on my lap I place a hard flat surface, like a laptop computer, directly under the DVD player. This keeps the device level and avoids skipping. Another thing to consider is the location of the on/off switch. It is very hard to see if you don't have 20/20 vision. It's location is on the right side of the DVD player, right next to where the plug, plugs into the device. It is dark and very small. I needed a flashlight to find it.Overall, this DVD player is a great value. The size alone makes it worth the price. The fact that it plays DVDS from inside and outside the United States makes it worthwhile. I am very pleased about this purchase.

Died After 3 Days
July 2021 Update:I am shocked to see this product still being sold! The manufacturer contacted me multiple times after my review below posted, each time offering me a larger sum of money in exchange for deleting my review. I repeatedly replied that all I wanted was a product that worked. My review was entirely factual to my experience, and I kept asking them to stop contacting me and trying to buy me off. I can't be bribed. Offering money to alter or post reviews is a violation of Amazon's rules and grounds for immediate banning from the site. I reported the violation to Amazon, yet here they are still selling this product. Hopefully they used my feedback to produce a better product. My story ends well as I came across a Panasonic player at Walmart that was well made, about $25 cheaper, and my Mom has been happily using it for the last two months.* * * * * * * * * *This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my Mom, a senior citizen. I thought I had done my research. What drew me to it was the large simple buttons on the player itself. I felt it would be easy for someone with arthritis and sight issues to use. Before making my purchase decision, I crosschecked reviews on senior consumer websites and they agreed the Wonnie was a good fit for people 65+. And it was!!...for a total of three days.It was much lighter than I expected it to be, but I felt that was a positive for my Mom. I showed her how the screen could rotate and be folded into more of a tablet if she wanted, but cautioned her to gently rotate the screen as it did seem a bit flimsy. As others have said, that puts the speakers on the back side of the unit. But the volume can be turned up higher to compensate (although others have complained about the audio quality/volume).I first installed a DVD from the 1980s and it looked horrible on the screen and sounded bad as well. A 2005 movie looked better, although I agree with other reviews that the screen is quite dark. I could not find a way to adjust the brightness. Very bad design flaw, you'd think this would be standard on all players. My Mom quickly understood how to use the player and happily used it to watch a couple movies. She really was loving her new gift until day 4, when it would not turn on no matter what she did. She called to let me know, "Wonnie died." She was sure she had forgotten something I had told her.She had not. Unbelievable that after only three days, Wonnie would no longer turn on! We did the troubleshooting and tried using the remote's buttons based on another's review that said DVDs and CDs only worked with the remote control. Decided maybe it was the power cord. It also came with a car charger, so I decided to give that a try. Much to my surprise, Wonnie came to life again when I plugged the car charger cord into it. Much to my dismay a nasty chemical/electrical smell filled my car.I did put a DVD in and it played, but there is not much doubt that Wonnie has major electrical/battery issues. The information on page 3 of the manual under "Maintenance and Long-Term Use" is telling. The second item says "If the battery begins to leak fluids, discharge acid buildup around the terminal, or gives off a smell, please dispose of the battery immediately following proper safety measures." Of course right after that the instructions say: "NOTE: The built-in high capacity rechargeable batteries must only be removed or replaced by a professional. Do not attempt to do yourself." See my photo #3.I am returning this product. I don't feel it is safely made, but more importantly the screen's darkness will be a problem for my Mom in the future. Sadly I have not really been able to find a UL rated portable DVD player or even a recognizable name brand one. Every one I have researched on Amazon seem to share many of the same problems as the Wonnie. Some even appear to be the Wonnie with just a different name on it. Consider yourself warned.
