Lightweight but also very sturdy. Soft to the touch which makes it easy to work with. Very flexible, which also made it easy to work with. I'm using a standard kind of picture frame, nothing super heavy, so this is strong enough to handle basically anything that I might need it for.

Because most of these coated wires are thin and bend and don't hold, or even come undone because coating is stiffer than the wire, I prefer this one which is heavy duty wire and well made. Needed this to hang a wall sculpture outdoors in an exposed area. Strong enough to hold some weight, The silver wire and clear coating blends into the wall so it's not super obvious, and the clear coating will protect wire from rust and is flexible enough so that wire knots hold together without coming undone. Pricey but worth it.

If you have lots of pictures to hang, you may want to get some of this wire. Not all pictures come ready to hang, and sometimes you may want to hang the picture in an odd or artistic way. I also ordered the looped hanger pack (large & small). This combo of wire and hanger loops made my last picture hanging day a breeze. Just a few tips for use, First, measure where you want to place the loops, make sure to pre-drill a pilot hole for the loop screws, this way you won't split the frame, do not install the loops yet. Measure between the loops and add 2"-4" for the arch of the wire, depending on the size of the picture and the location of the loops. You want the top of the wire arch to be 1.5"- 3" from the top of the frame. Once you have this measurement, add 4" to your total, this will be the length you need to cut your wire. Next, fold each end of the wire over about 2", feed one end of the wire through the loop (not attached to the frame yet) and continue folding the end of the wire back so it is against the main wire. Hold the main wire and the end in a pair of pliers, grab the loop mount and twist it at least 4 full turns, or until the twisted wire looks tight. Do this to both ends and now you can mount them to the frame. Place your wall hanger and you are ready to go.
