Damn good sub....priced right!
I gotta say, this sub seriously hits hard!!! I am mighty impressed. I have had it for a few weeks now and it broke in nicely. I got it in a sealed box (about 1 cube) in the cab of my '74 c10 chevy stepside. I placed the speaker in between my bucket seats that I added after I purchased the truck from my neighbor. It's got a mildly built big block and a 4 spd. The truck is pretty loud with exhaust I have on it that dumps just in front of the rear axle. And I am here to say that with this sub and my amp combo, along with my two 6.5 speakers, each in their own separate boxes in the rear lower corners of the truck cab ( ds18 midrange woofers rated 140 watts rms) and a Rockville cheapo component set (two 6.5 mid woofers and tweeters with crossovers mounted in the doors) that is powered by a little, Itty, bitty Stepsom compact amp that puts out 60 watts rms to all 4 speakers. A cadence mono block class d sub amp rated at around 800 watts rms @ 1 ohm powers the sub, I almost forgot to mention. I can be driving down the freeway at around 2800 rpms with both windows down and my back slider open. (About70 mph) I can turn the volume up enough to completely drown out ALL wind and engine noise and still have distortion free, pounding hard bass and clear, crisp mids and highs. This system is probably the best sounding car audio system that I have owned...and it is due in part to the excellent sub that Skar Audio has produced at such an affordable price range. I have it crossed over at around 40-50 hz on the amp with about a little more than 5/8 gain and bass boost at around 1/2. (Probably roughly 500-600 watts...).....the sub really handles all I have thrown at it easily. No audible clipping at higher volumes either. I'd swear, it looks like it has much more excursion than it's 15mm x-max one way rating! I'm telling u, when I turn up Godsmack, it POUNDS! Just break it in good for a little bit before u start turning up the volume much and I can pretty much guarantee satisfaction. It stays nice and cool at high volume levels and I have not smelled anything cooking yet for fairly long durations of almost ruthless pounding hard rock music. I cannot say enough about this sub. It BLOWS the doors off the kicker cvr sub its replacing. There is no comparison in sound quality and it handles way more power without burning the voice coils and stinking up the whole cab like the kicker did at 2x the volume level...I definetly recommend this sub to anyone who is looking for a sub that is budget friendly and high quality. I am sold on Skar Audio subwoofers! Update...just got a Skar Audio mono block 1500 watt rms amp to power the sub....I was mistaken about the cadence amp being 800 watts...it's actually rated at 1200 watts rms...but I replaced it with the Skar amp....anyhoo...the new amp is actually a little over powered for the sub and when I start to crank the volume up I'm starting to smell a little voice coil cookage...so I turn it down a bit, but the sub still seems to take the abuse...I will say that for it... But in the end I'm probably going to upgrade to the evl 12" sub so I can get some more volume out of it with out worrying about smoking the voice coil...but I still am impressed at how tough this little sub is....

Price quality and sound
I don’t write a review instantly I have put them through the ringers. I have been playing them for over six months running them on a Rockford power T 1000 now had them on a Rockford power T 1500 before moving them to my other vehicle. So as long as you’re not overpowered them you should be all right, but if you have a bigger amp, I’ll probably would run them each at a 4 Ohm load to bring them to a 2 Ohm load. In the picture below is a pair of SDR & SVR both good for the price SDR gives more punchy bass.

Sounds great really nice lows at about five hundred watts
I've had this wolfer for about two or three months, and it's been easily handing five hundred r m s watts. That's all i've been running to it.This thing sounds nice and deep. And I put it in the correct size box ported, and you can definitely hear it from outside the car pretty well. . Shakes all my mirrors.I'm extremely happy, even at four hundred to five hundred watts. As far as durability and longevity, we will see, but i'm definitely happy with the price. And the performance so far.

Nice!
First impressions/install. I’ll update in a month after break-in and some thumping. Purchased to replace the SDR-12 (pictured right) that blew within 4 months. There’s a through review on it under the SDR-12 bass kit it came in. I was going back to Rockford as that first experience with Skar was a bit of a letdown, rarely had the knob over 1/2 way and cooked in 4 months? Warranty process sounded annoying, was just gonna cut my loses. Read a review on this SVR fitting right into this box and working well by someone in my same situation, decided to give it a go. It’s definitely higher quality, time will tell. Going to give it a gentler break-in for sure, MUCH stiffer than the SDR. Better looking also! Update: 40 hour break-in, hits hard now!! Much better sound and response than the SDR

It’s a Monster!
Loud, clean, punchy and very heavy. I’m not an expert, but one of these wired up parallel at 1 Ohm with 1,000 Watts makes my rear view mirror pretty much useless because it’s shaking so much. That’s just for having fun on rare occasion. 99% Of the time it’s just for clean natural sounding bass for Pink Floyd, Metallica, Cranberries, Ozzy, B-52’s, and Classic Rock in general. You can’t go wrong.

Excellent replacement for SK12TBV stock subwoofer
Purchased this to replace the blown out stock sub on the SK12TBV and it fits like a glove no mods or extras needed. Skar's always high quality for the price and this sub MF SMACKS on this enclosure it's loud and deep i love it.
