Solid build
This piece comes with 8mm threading and works especially well with the stainless/aluminum extension handles available for $14. Forget about the cuddly cat. He's just an impartial by-stander. The gig pole itself is really just around here as an anti-intruder novelty. It shortens down to 3' and is Very pokie and sharp. All 5 spines have a deep barb on them, all are glued into the holder. No idea as to how durable the glue is. It's a pretty cool rig.

It's on my Telescopic Spear
It lives up to it's name! It is useful to the carp and large frogs here. The carp especially have some fight, and the barbs on the spearpoints are effective in keeping them on the spear to be retrieved. Great value and, so far, very durable. The length is appropriate for reaching out 10+ feet. Great for use in a narrow channel or small creek.

keep away from children very very disappointed, not a toy
practice throwing it before you go fishing it takes a little time specially with a 9 foot pole I will probably try a 6 foot next time, but it telescopes I hope my boy is enjoying it
