While looking for Ethopian christmas dishes, I came upon a recipe calling for teff flour. I found some at a local health food store and proceeded to make the bread. It turned out very well. A short time ago, I decided to purchase some more flour, and as I make a lot of purchases online at Amazon, I decided to find and purchase it to take advantage of our prime membership free shipping.Yesterday I decided to open the package and start making the bread. The recipe is simple, just teff flour and water to start, with a little salt added in later. After letting the flour/water mixture sit out for 24 hours as the recipe instructed, I took the towel off of the bowl and immediately noticed a very strong odor. My daughter asked me if someone had thrown up!! I decided to try and make the bread anyway, thinking that maybe since this was a different brand of flour, possibly the odor was something we would have to deal with as leaving the flour mixture to sit "ferments" it.Well, after cooking one piece of flatbread on the stove, I tasted it and the bread had a terrible taste. It was nothing like the great tasting injera bread I had made previously.
