Review: Great value, love the extra battery - I ordered this drill and All Trade 835113 90 Piece Drill Bit Assortment in Plastic Case in anticipation of starting work on a complete remodel of my house. I've had it for about three months now, and I've used the bejesus out of it. I'm no home improvement expert. I have some highly skilled friends who handle most of the dirty work, and they use the drill regularly, too, when working on my house. For now, the battery life is awesome. When we manage to drain a battery in a single day, having a second battery is wonderful. I'm diligent about taking the batteries off of the charger after they've been on it for four or five hours, to try to extend their life. They're NiCad's, so I'm sure they'll die eventually. I haven't drilled concrete or anything, but the drill has more than enough power to handle everything I've asked of it. I used a circular saw to cut through a layer of drywall and a two-by-four to snake a microwave power cord through with no trouble. It drives wood screws into studs with appropriate power, and on the lowest setting, works great even with machine screws into threaded sockets. One of my friends used it to build (frame, drywall, and whatever else) three closets in one day, on a single battery charge. I really appreciate that there are two double headed driver bits fitted into the base of the drill; don't have to hunt around for a screwdriver. The case is blow molded, but not overly cheap. I haven't had much opportunity to actually USE the case, though, since the drill is in such constant use, there's no point in putting it away! In short, unless you need a ridiculously powerful monstrosity for some crazy tough application, there's no beating this critter for the price.
Review: Decent Drill Crappy Charger - The Good - Drill is a reasonable tool for serious work. - Hard case is nice The Bad - NiCd batteries, which I knew and expected for the price. The Terrible - Dumb charger that does not shut off after charge cycle, indicate degree of charge or in any way prevent serious damage to the battery cells from overheating/overcharging. One must fully drain the battery and then use a timer set to 5 hours to prevent destroying the batteries. It is simply impossible to just plop a bettery in after a day's work and know that it will be ready in the morning. Doing so will instead quickly destroy the battery.

### ⭐ Decent Drill Crappy Charger

### ⭐⭐⭐ Not entirely what I expected
*by C***Y on August 20, 2010*

I bought this drill kit on Amazon because it was less then replacing the battery on my old 14v Milwaukee. (There is something seriously wrong with that picture.) I saw 19.2 volts and assumed it was a powerful drill at a great price. Like a Ryobi Well it may be 19.2v but it is certainly not powerful. It only takes 3/8" bits... and the LED on the charger never shuts off. Ever. Leading me to return the first one, which Amazon promptly and gracefully replaced. There is some good news. Its compact, and easy to handle. Fit and finish is "you get what you pay for", but it is certainly not worst in class. The case is compact and well designed. The little light is nice, and it has other features that you used to only get on substantially more expensive contractor grade gear. Just not sure how long it will last. But for less then a battery, maybe I don't really care. Fine for a home owner - if you are going to use it for a living I would take a pass.
