Red Wing 08111-3 Men's Lace Up Leather Boot Ankle Boots

These are my first Red Wing boots, I'd heard nothing but good things about them. Except... the Iron Ranger has a reputation for being a tough boot to break in. I've had mine almost a month and have worn them about four times a week, the second week being pretty tough on my poor feet. However, once you pass that phase and the leather starts to give, they are *very* comfortable. In terms of the looks, these are smart-casual and the amber harness colour I chose looks great in my opinion. The speed-lacing at the top of the boot is handy too.A couple of points - one of my feet is a near half-size bigger than the other (10.5 / 11) I went for size 11 and they are fine on both feet. I also carry a long-term ankle injury, these boots feel very supportive around the ankle / heel and I feel confident wearing them.All in all, I'm very happy with the boots and would definitely buy another pair of Red Wings in the future.

From the moment you take them out of the box, the quality and attention to detail is obvious. I have received multiple compliments on them while standing around at the pub. They simply look outstanding. I also love the smell of new leather and they have that in spades. These are likely the best made boots I own.Sizing was my biggest concern before they arrived. They are comfortable but take a bit to break in properly. That being said, I've had no issues. I did not try the boots on before ordering but instead spent hours scouring reviews to determine the best size. My original intent was to size down by 1/2, per many reviews and recommendations, but then my actual sized boot dropped dramatically in price so I ordered those. I've never worn Red Wings before but I have worn boots my entire life. I typically wear size 10 UK but I have a similar pair of Grenson boots that are 9.5 and a Frye lace-up that is 10.5. I went with 10 for the Red Wing. It fits my right foot perfectly but is a little large on my left. I wear thick Smart Wool socks and I wear a thin liner sock on my left and have had no issues. I've been wearing them for two weeks now and will often walk to the market and back, about 5 kilometres. They are a tad narrow but are long and my left boot has 3/4 inch spare room at the toe. I bought some inexpensive leather inserts for both, which seems to have helped. No foot pain, no complaints.They are comfortable, look great, and make me feel like a man - a real man with hair on his chest, a deep voice, and who doesn't get the hiccups when eating spicy food. Yeah, I feel like that man. You can too. Probably.

I bought these boots from the seller BASE. The sole is Nitrile Vibram. No surprises regarding the quality of the boots so I'll jump straight to the sizing info.First the numbers. I measured the length and width of my foot placing it between two boxes and standing full weight barely touching the boxes (so I can feel barely that it touches but with no pressure at all). The length is 275 mm (millimeters) and width is 105 mm. Then I measured circumference along the line (which is not perpendicular to the side of the foot) that goes through furthest protrusions on the sides of the foot - the joint of the thumb on one side and the joint of the little toe on the other side - 265 mm. The size of the boots is 9D US / 8 UK / 42 EU / 27 CM.So how do they fit. When I put shoes on with normal sock I have probably 1 centimeter of space left for the thumbs. At least this is what I can feel pushing boot's toe area and feeling where my thumb is. Centimeter is not a lot. It only guaranties that when I walk my thumbs don't touch and push against the wall of toe box which would be a disaster. At first the boots felt gently tight, after skin softens from the warmth of the feet the feeling is more as lf I would wear the Rehband support for the feet, and after some time the tightness somewhat diminishes and the feet feel gently immobilized/secured. I don't know if my feet's anatomy corresponds so good to the last, but I don't feel pressure in any particular area but gentle tightness on whole feet as if boots would wrap around them. I don't need to break them in with pain. I just got out and walked. Probably if I started to walk really fast with long strides the friction would appear somewhere, but considering how stiff they are when you hold them in hands and how they wrap around feet when you put them - they fit perfectly.Considerations. If I would wear really thick socks or have longer feet than 275 mm or somewhat square toe area of the feet I would probably go with the size 8.5 UK.

I bought the 8119. If you're in doubt about buying these because they're so expensive and you wounder about it's quality, don't be. They are exactly as described. Well built, perfect material. But be aware of 2 important issues that everyone discusses.1. Size - I went down a full size ! I am a 44 EU in all of my boots and sometimes I need to go up, not down. My sneakers are 45 EU. So I went for 11US/10UK/44EU. It was way too big ! And I compared them with my other boots and they were bigger than all of them !!!! I went down a half size but still it remained bigger so I ended up ordering 10US/9UK/43EU. Maybe the problem is with the conversion, cause usually 11US is a 45EU not 44EU. The shoe last is perfect. My toes don't touch the leather end, and they have room to move. They fit like a glove !2. The break in period: For what I read, this model is much softer thant most. This leather is thick, resistant and soft to the touch. You put them on and they feel great, but you know you have to take it easy. Forget the idea to put them on and go for a long walk. I started wearing them around the house and go out for just short minute walks. After some time I would have to take them off. I'm at the end of the first week now and I can wear them on for a full morning or afternoon without complaints. No blisters whatsoever. A few more days and it will be over. Conclusion : There must be a break in period ! After that you're free to enjoy this excellent product !!!

Shame on Redwing for allowing this product to ship to unsuspecting buyers. For the price of these boots I would never expect to receive such a poorly matched pair. As you can see from the pictures the right foot boot has a different length cap cover than the left. Also the right boot lace flap clearly starts further back than the left boot. The size 7 fit was good for me, and I would have kept them if not for the defective right boot. I am beginning to believe that shoe merchants and manufacturers use Amazon to liquidate their defective or mismatched footwear. I had a similar issue with a pair of Allen edmonds 5th avenues. There is no excuse for this. $450 Cdn dollars is a lot to pay for boots and I expect near perfect boots from Redwing. Obviously, they have been returned for full refund.

Ich besitze bereits mindestens 6 Jahren ein gleiches Paar Redwing Schuhe und kann somit die Qualität und Langlebigkeit bestens beurteilen.Da man Lederschuhe nach dem Tragen einen Tag ruhen und lüften lassen soll,mein zweites Paar Iron Ranger allerdings meinem Hund noch besser gefallen hat als mir,wollte ich schon länger für Ersatz sorgen.Davon abgehalten hat mich der mittlerweile in Deutschland übliche Preis von 319 €.Ohne Frage sind die Schuhe diesen Preis wert,aber sie waren mir dennoch zu teuer.Jetzt hatte ich das Glück bei einem Anbieter in England genau meine Größe für nur 230 € zu finden.Leider sind die meisten anderen Größen nicht sonderlich günstiger als in D aber man muss auch mal Glück haben und das hatte ich dieses Mal.Aus den Socken gehauen hat mich,dass meine Samstags aufgegebene Bestellung mit normalem Postversand - kein Express und Versand auch noch kostenlos - Mittwochs darauf zugestellt wurden.Der Schuh selbst ist unverwüstlich.An meinen mindestens 6 Jahre alten Redwings sind nichtmal die Absätze abgelaufen,was am extrem harten und abriebfesten Nitrilkork liegt.Wer Knieprobleme hat,sollte zumindest Einlegesohlen nutzen.Mir taten anfangs die Knie richtig weh,hatte aber auch einen Meniskusriss.Das Leder wird alle paar Monate über Nacht mit Redwing Mink Oil gepflegt und am nächsten Tag abgebürstet,sie werden mit der Zeit immer schöner.Da sie meiner Ansicht nach etwas größer ausfallen,bestelle ich statt 45 nur 44,5 und das passt perfekt.Man sollte sich darüber im Klaren sein,dass das Einlaufen eines Paar Redwing zu den unschönen Dingen im Leben gehört.Die ersten Tage nur für kurze Spaziergänge von 20-30 Minuten tragen,ist schonmal eine sehr gute Idee.Mit den neuen Schuhen irgendwohin fahren ohne ein anderes Paar Schuhe dabei zu haben,dann noch den ganzen Tag womöglich über weitere Strecken damit laufen,nimmt garantiert ein übles Ende.Die Dinger sind neu knüppelhart,wollen langsam eingetragen werden,und dann sitzen sie nach spätestens 2 Wochen wie angegossen und man will keine anderen mehr.Das Leder wird immer weicher,passt sich perfekt an und die Patina nach jahrelangem Gebrauch ist unbezahlbar.Auf dem Foto sieht man den Unterschied zwischen dem neuen Paar und dem dunkleren 6 Jahre alten.1-2 Mal im Jahr reinigen und ölen und sie werden von ganz alleine so schön ;-)

Amazon is selling a complete fake item. Red wing Iron ranger is an amazing boot- no questions. I was shocked right after taking a peek inside the box, how could Amazon do that? It was under prime, sold and shipped by amazon. No trust left for amazon whatsoever!

Dopo un po di indecisione ho seguito la guida per scegliere la misura della casa produttrice e appena indossati sembravano un guanto.Naturalmente hanno necessità di un periodo di 2/3 fino a 5 giorni di rodaggio per ammorbidirli e adattarli al piede, arrivano già ben oliati, tuttavia una dose massiccia di grasso da sella a fatto si che il periodo di "break in" si riducesse a 2 giorni, sono diventati la mia calzatura quotidiana fin dal giorno dell'acquisto, anche tenendoli per 8 ore non mi hanno affaticato piu del necessario, SODDISFATTISSIMO

Attenzione alla taglia: consiglio di acquistare una taglia piena più piccola del vostro numero usuale.Io ho normalmente il 42,5 e inizialmente ho preso il 42: comodo, ma col 41,5 mi son trovato meglio, perchè dopo un periodo di rodaggio la pelle cede nei punti giusti e diventano comodissimi e personalizzati. In questi boots anche il mezzo numero fa molta differenza.Usateli e abusateli e diventeranno sempre più belli! Poi se si abita in posti molto freddi e si indossano calze molto spesse si può scendere solo di mezza misura. Il venditore è stato eccezionale, mi ha cambiato il numero senza intoppi e con estrema gentilezza,

Should have read the recommendations/reviews before I made the purchase, but I ordered my normal size 9 instead of an 8 or 8.5. However, it worked out for me because when I stuck my orthotics inside (usually a increases shoe size by 1 size up) it fitted PERFECTLY.For those who purchased the wrong size, try getting a pair of insoles to adjust for the size.The colour is fantastic, I can see why people prefer this boot with this colour. I am used to wearing boots/shoes that taper slightly at the toe, and these were completely round. When I first saw them, I thought omg they look a little bit clownish, with the double layer at the toe and the extra budge that is designed. When i put them on it didn't seem too bad, and after wearing them a few times I've learned to start liking them.They are extremely comfortable, the material is A+, and you can really feel the quality.

Queste è il primo paio che acquisto e sono molto soddisfatto. Ci vuole circa una settimana di uso prolungato affinchè comincino a diventare più morbide e prendere la conformazione del piede. Ho preso esattamente un numero in meno del mio come consigliato dal sito della Red Wing e sono perfette. Molto, molto soddisfatto

è il quarto paio che acquisto (la prima volta su Amazon) e come sempre sono soddisfatto. La qualità è ottima.. all’inizio sono molto dure in alcuni punti possono fare male ma appena vanno in forma e la pelle si ammorbidisce tutta va a posto diventano comode come pantofole. Per chi non sa decidersi sul numero considerate che calzano più lunghe in quanto sono misure americane quindi suggerisco almeno un mezzo numero in meno.

Der Preis mag zum Anfang hoch erscheinen und man muß ihn auch erst einlaufen...Das mag den einen oder anderen vielleicht abschrecken, aber wenn er erstmal passt, mag man keinen anderen mehr tragen. Man kann sich mit 2 paar dünnen Socken behelfen und klebt gleich wenns irgendwo drückt ein Plaster drauf, dann ist das einlaufen halb so schlimm. Ich habe mittlerweile 3 Paar. Ich trage bei Sneakern 44 bis 45 habe eigentlich eine 44 und trage bei Red Wing eine 43. Sollten die Schuhe vielleicht doch weiter werden als gedacht gibts bei Red Wing auch Einlagen. Das die Schuhe in einem Jahr nicht mehr neu aussehen werden, ist mir klar. Ich trage ungewaschene Raw Denim Jeans die abfärben, der Schuh kommt mit auf den Hundeplatz und übers Feld. Diese haben schon die neuen Vibram Sohlen mit leichten Profil, bin gespannt wie lange sie halten werden...Es sollte einem vorher schon klar sein das dies ein stabiler Arbeitsschuh ist, mit dem entsprechenden Gewicht. Für den Preis den ich hier über Amazon bezahlt habe ein Schnäppchen.

Superbe produit expédié rapidement, mais de bonnes infos sur la taille sont nécessaires, en effet je fais du 43/44 et le 42.5 est encore un peu grand. Il est possible qu'une fois porté je sois obligé d'y ajouter une semelle. Alors attention à la taille!!

Ich habe den Stiefel eine ganze Nummer kleiner bestellt und bin sehr zufrieden damit. Das Leder passt sich mehr und mehr an und auch das individuelle Fußbett tritt sich ein, ohne dass ich diese Einlaufphase als wirklich schmerzhaft empfinde. Über die Geschichte, Machart und Qualität dieses Schuhs muss nichts mehr gesagt werden, da es hierzu im Netz bereits eine Fülle an Informationen gibt. Ich sind meine ersten Redwing-Schuhe und bin gespannt, ob sich der bisher durchweg positive Eindruck über die Jahre bestätigen wird.

Das Wichtigste: Die Schuhe fallen 1/2 Größe kleiner aus als normalerweise. Das wusste ich aus anderen Rezensionen und habe deshalb passend bestellt. Größe 44 und 44 1/2 scheinen identischzu sein. Die Sohlen direkt aneiandergelegt sind deckungsgleich lang. Der perfekte Schuh zum Tragen von Einlagen, denn er hat kein Fußbett. Wenn ich alle Stiefel weggeben müsste, würde ich diesen behalten. Vergesst nicht, immer Schuhspanner zu verwenden und das Leder von Zeit zu Zeit mit Lederfett incl. Wachszusatz zu pflegen.

Le scarpe sono fatte bene, assolutamente nulla da dire sulla qualità. La pelle si sente al tatto é fantastica, ho preso mezzo numero in meno, per quanto concerne la lunghezza non ho problemi. Ma se avete la pianta larga prendete pure la vostra taglia normale altrimenti risultano strettine. Comunque dopo un po' di utilizzo la pelle si "plasma" a dovere. Le consiglio!

Lieferung aus England überraschend schnell. Anfangs etwas steif und gewöhnungsbedürftig aber nach kurzer Einlaufzeit sehr bequem. Bin mal gespannt, wie sie sich jetzt im Winter bewähren. Zur Größe: Sie fallen m.E. etwas größer aus und passen mit einer Einlegesohle, die man sowieso braucht, genau richtig. Also: Super Schuhe die Ihren Preis wert sind!

Se ven espectaculares, la suela nueva te aisla totalmente del suelo, difícilmente sientes los que estás pisando. Es increíble como algo tan robusto y resistente pueda ser tan cómodo y atractivo a la vista.En cuanto a la entrega todo ha sido de 10.Talla: en mi caso media talla menos, me atrevo a decir que un número completo menos también me serviría pero pasaría más trabajo amoldandolas al pie, el cuero es grueso. Lo que sí no recomiendo es la misma talla que lleves de zapatillas de goma porque te van a quedar grandes.
