This is a decent cheap anchor for small boats on calm water. It's made of pretty thin metal, which keeps it light, but means it's not as strong as a bigger anchor. Not appropriate for the ocean, large lakes, or boats bigger than about 20ft. Works fine for canoes, small sailboats, small fishing boats on small lakes and streams.

Light weight and holds 19' correct craft very well, even in choppy water.

This is one of the most popular anchors and it is easy to toss and retrieve. It stores perfectly in my bow.

A decidedly low budget anchor. First, let me explain my use case. We have an 18’ center console boat that we take to the beach and anchor bow out. Two anchors, one bow and one stern. This anchor held fine in sand and mud in calm conditions on the bow with 3’ of chain. However, occasionally we would anchor in a spot with some weeds and this anchor immediately failed, probably because the flukes are too short. So I tried it on the stern. On the stern, I usually use no chain since I don’t want anyone kicking this chain on the beach, and I usually bury they anchor too. While this anchor held fast once set and or buried, it almost never set by itself from a throw ashore and pull, whereas a normal style danforth always set itself. So, meh. I couldn’t return it so gave it to a friend. I’d consider this a picnic anchor, but don’t trust it.

I have tried several heavier anchors and they are hard to pull up with our electric anchor retriever. This one holds the 22 ft pontoon boat with ease better than the bell types
