No problems since installation.
My truck didn't come with auto locks. I bought a cheap kit to add a fob to convert my manual locks. This was a great upgrade, but the actuators died after a few years. I bought these actuators and set them in place in the factory spot. They have been working perfectly for several years even with the cheap actuator module. Not a bad conversion for a '98 Chevy work truck.

Good value and works great even after many months
These are exactly what they are supposed to be... they work great .. quality seems good. This review is long after I installed them because I wanted to see if they lasted. They were installed on my 2005 Safari van. As with anything automotive the install wasn't super easy but that is because of the vehicle not the actuator. They have been installed for a very long time and still work like new.

Surprising Quality
I have run into problems in the past buying aftermarket electrical/electronic parts that were made in China and sold at low prices. These were of surprisingly good quality and after installing them, they operate smoothly and work very well. The units come with mounting brackets; which have to removed, reoriented, and reinstalled depending upon whether installing the unit on right or left doors (the front and back side doors are interchangeable); however, the units do not come with a bracket for the rear door, even though the parts description indicates otherwise, so one has to reuse the old bracket by removing it from the old actuator, removing the bracket that comes on the new unit, and installing the rear door bracket on the new unit in the correct orientation hence the four star rating; otherwise, I would have given a five star rating, call it 4.5. After 25 years, I needed to replace the last two of the five door lock actuators on my 1999 GMC Suburban as they started to bind up and not allow the door lock to be locked or unlocked manually using the key. I had replaced two of the others previously with other brand parts and had torn apart the old actuators to learn why they were binding up so I was familiar with the failure mode and how to do the job. What happens is the rack and pinion gears, which are not metal, wear over time and allow the end of the rod on the pinion to wobble side to side from the direction of travel of the pinion. When this happens, the pinion binds up, usually in the extended position. The actuator will still operate electrically but not manually using the key. The motor that drives the gears usually is good although in one of the two cases this time the motor seemed to become too weak to drive the gears fully in each direction even after manually wiggling and unbinding the pinion. In the past I had cannibalized the two old actuators to make one good one for a ready spare and eventually I had to replace the third of five units. It still works. The old ones were too worn to cannibalize this time so I took them apart and recycled what I could (copper from the motor, steel screws and motor housing, and the plastic casing).

Great product
Works well on my 96’ Silverado k1500. The doors lock with force now, whereas before I installed these, my old locks wouldn’t even lock automatically. I’d recommend while youre in there, clean and grease the window tracks and replace the inside, outside door handles and the latch. Then do the door hinge pins and your GMT400 doors will be like new!

not strong enough
it is not strong enough to lock and unlock the door on my 99 suburban. I can hear it working and I can see the lock lever barely twitch up and down but not enough to lock or unlock the door. the last one was frozen locked so atleast I can lock it manually for now

From day one I installed the product in my astro van rear door never has enough power in the motor to lock or unlock the door. It's very weak my old OEM one from 97 had more power in the little motor it fits looks OEM style but very weak. Waste of money. Ended up just throwing it out
