I thought I was stuck this way forever
Unbelievably helpful for my crazy guts. I’ve been suffering badly for a year with no identified cause (although I think I have SIBO/dysbiosis). I’d made some headway with some symptoms but the relentless exploding gas was insane. I couldn’t eat anything past 3pm without things kicking off inside. Initially it seemed made worse by bread, then any carbs, and then any food at all - even just a salad. These started working straightaway. I still keep waiting for the explosions to happen but they don’t. After a couple of days I even experimented with hummus and pickled onion (severe no-go foods) with only the payback a normal person might expect to deal with. I won’t be without them now.

Why Codeage Fermented Enzymes is a Tale of Two Formulas
As someone deeply immersed in nutritional science, I've always been more of a food first advocate, but I'm also pragmatic. I’m fascinated by the supplemental tools that can bridge the gap between our modern diets and optimal physiological function. I've personally struggled with bloating and discomfort after certain meals, particularly those high in fibre or dairy and wanted to find a comprehensive enzyme formula to provide support. My goal wasn't to fix anything, but to enhance my body's digestive efficiency and nutrient absorption, and to make eating certain healthy foods more comfortable. I’m inherently sceptical of all in one products, as they often over promise, so I was keen to dissect this formula to see if it was genuinely effective or just clever marketing The core of this supplement is its digestive enzyme blend, and I must say, it's an impressive and well rounded spectrum. Enzymes are biological catalysts, think of them as microscopic scissors that break down large, complex food molecules into smaller, absorbable units. This formula provides scissors for every major food group. You have Amylase and Glucoamylase to tackle carbohydrates, breaking down complex starches into simple sugars like glucose. You have a robust Protease blend, which disassembles large protein chains into their constituent amino acids, the building blocks for our own tissues. For fats, it includes Lipase, which is essential for breaking down triglycerides into fatty acids and glycerol. Where this formula shines for me is in its specificity. It includes Lactase, the enzyme responsible for breaking down milk sugar (lactose), which is a common culprit for intolerance. It also provides enzymes we humans don't even produce, like Cellulase and Hemicellulase, which break down the fibrous cell walls of plants. This is crucial because it can help unlock nutrients that would otherwise pass through us unabsorbed. Finally, the inclusion of Alpha Galactosidase is a thoughtful touch as this is the enzyme that breaks down the notoriously hard to digest oligosaccharides found in beans, lentils, and cruciferous vegetables, which are a primary cause of gas and bloating. Now, for the critical part. This product also markets itself on its probiotic and botanical blends, and in my professional opinion, this is where it falters. The Enzyme Generating Probiotic Blend is listed at 1 Billion CFU. While probiotics are fantastic for gut health, this dosage is, frankly, benign. To elicit a meaningful clinical effect, such as modulating the gut microbiome or supporting immune function, studies typically use dosages starting from 5 billion to 20 billion CFUs per strain, not as a total. A 1 billion CFU total, split across four different strains, is highly unlikely to survive stomach acid and colonise the gut in sufficient numbers to exert any significant health benefit. Similarly, the blend includes excellent ingredients like turmeric and ginger. However, these are part of a proprietary blend where the total amounts are small. Clinical research on turmeric, for example, often uses 500-1,000 mg of a standardised curcumin extract to achieve an anti inflammatory effect. The amount in a single capsule here is a tiny fraction of that, likely too small to be considered therapeutic. They are, in my view, "label dressing" they look good on the ingredient list but lack the clinical dosage to deliver on their implied health effects. I chose this specific product over its competitors precisely because of that comprehensive enzyme spectrum. Despite my critique of the "extras," the enzyme only portion of the formula is excellent. The inclusion of plant fibre digesting enzymes and alpha galactosidase is not standard in cheaper formulas. The fact that it's vegan, non GMO, and provides a full three month supply (90 capsules) also appealed to me as practical and high quality. I've been taking it as directed: one capsule taken just before my largest or bad meal of the day. My personal experience has been overwhelmingly positive. I am giving this 4 stars because the primary components, the enzymes work exceptionally well. Within a few days, I noticed a significant reduction in post meal bloating, particularly after eating bean based chillies or large salads. That feeling of heaviness and "stuck" food was largely alleviated. This directly correlates with the science, the alpha galactosidase and cellulase enzymes were clearly providing the digestive firepower my own system was lacking for those specific foods. It didn't cure anything, but it absolutely provided the support I was looking for, making my diet more comfortable and varied. From a formulation standpoint, this supplement is ideal for a wide range of people. It's plant based, vegan, non GMO, and free from common allergens like gluten, soy, and dairy, making it accessible for those with dietary sensitivities. Our modern lifestyles, often high in processed foods and consumed under stress, can put a significant strain on our body's natural enzyme production. This formula acts as a digestive scaffold, helping to properly break down food and support nutrient absorption, which can be beneficial for almost anyone looking to optimise their digestive health. The recommended dosage is a simple one capsule a day, which I find very convenient. For maximum benefit, it should be taken just before or with your first few bites of a meal. This timing is key, as it ensures the enzymes are in the stomach, ready to mix with the food as it arrives. I experienced no negative side effects. The 90 capsule count means a single bottle lasts about three months, which simplifies re ordering. At its current price £27.54 for a 90 day supply, the value is excellent, working out to just over £9 a month. It loses one star for the inclusion of the probiotic and botanical blends, which are dosed at levels I consider insignificant and feel a bit misleading to the average consumer. However, if you ignore those extras and buy this product for what it truly is, a high potency, broad spectrum digestive enzyme formula, then it is fantastic. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking specifically for enzyme support to help with bloating, gas, and discomfort after meals. I hope it was helpful and provided some clarity on the science behind this formulation. I genuinely enjoyed testing this product and was pleased with its core performance, and I hope this review helps you make an informed decision.

Change of formula? Ruined
Extremely disappointed. The first batch I got was excellent. Worked so well. This is the 2nd batch I bought the box is different. The colour and smell of the tablets are different and it does nothing for me. I wish I read the reviews because I’ve saw someone else say this exact same thing. Don’t know if they’ve gone with another provider or changed the mixture or what. All I know is this new lot is literally like taking sugar pills. So frustrating

What are they actually for?
Got a 90 day supply but cant actually recall what the product is supposed to do! Nothing on the capsule jar describes what it does for you either! Found capsule hard to swallow. Gone to emptying contents of capsule into my water and throwing outer plastic away

I’ve been taking the Codeage Fermented Digestive Enzymes for a few days now, and I can honestly say my digestion has never felt better. I love that it combines 14 digestive enzymes with probiotics, prebiotics, and fermented botanicals—all in one capsule a day. I’ve noticed less bloating, smoother digestion, and more energy after meals. The plant-based formula is gentle yet effective, and it’s great knowing I’m getting both enzyme support and gut-friendly probiotics in one supplement. I also appreciate that it’s a 3-month supply, which makes it both convenient and cost-effective. If you’re looking for a clean, plant-based digestive enzyme that actually works, I highly recommend giving this a try!

I'm giving this four starts only because of the smell of the pill. I'm sure it can't be avoided due to the ingredients, but it does cause me to gag a little. The pill itself is large, but again that's because of the packed capsule as you're only taking one pill. I will repurchase only because it's been helping my gut, and I only need to take one pull, whereas for other brands, you need to take multiple. I've not had any adjustment side affects, just good results.
