I had birds crashing into my windows daily. I did not want to use stickers on my windows since it makes it hard to clean the windows. These icicles, bird detergents, solved the problem. Not one bird has come near my windows. No dead birds to clean up.

We installed some of these to try and defend some fruit trees, and so far they are doing well. As others have noted though, the hanging loops seem a little light weight for longer term duty. For the design, the string needs to allow the spinners to spin, but at the same time the spinning will wear the string. Function vs. durability, one of many design challenges. I plan to recover the spinners we've put out once the last of the fruit is picked. No need to leave them out for the winter and spring, and probably shouldn't be out at all until the fruit sets late next spring. Don't want to scare pollenators away while the trees are flowering. We'll look harder at the hanging loops then, and update this review with those observations. So far though, we are happy with the product. More news when it happens!

These were not magical (my neighbor pointed out a bird sitting on the same branch as one in the cherry tree), but I was very confident that there were far less birds once I hung them. I got FIFTY pounds of cherries, so I am going to say they worked well enough! There were often one or two birds in the tree. Once I removed them there were consistently a handful of birds in the tree, and that was after I took most the cherries.

Definitely reduced our woodpeckers pecking on our house. With the supplied elastic string for hanging them, these shiny rods twirl in the slightest breeze. But the elastic string used to hang them is exposed to sun and rain and broke after a couple of months. The rods themselves are fine! What is needed is some weather resistant elastic string. We tried a piece of wire, but then the rods just hang and don't twirl around in the wind. Sigh. The only elastic string I'm finding is for bracelets and clearly not UV resistant! Has anyone else (or the manufacturer) found any weather-resistant elastic string or cord? Say, 1mm thick (or thinner), so it will pass through the hole in the rod?

I was getting a dead bird every sunny day. They don’t scare the birds because the hummingbirds still frequent the feeder, but it stops the mirror effect of the window. I beaded two together to make them the length of my window.

The mourning doves that were supposed to be scared away from our fire Escape by these seem to instead have taken them for a thoughtful housewarming gift. They make for very attractive decor above their new nest. I do enjoy watching them spinning, and will consider hanging them on my next Christmas tree. But as a deterrent, they were useless.

Good quality and price. Hopefully they keep the squirrels and crows away from my tomatoes!

Bought these to keep the grackles out of my white mulberry tree. They really couldn't care less about them. Like, they don't even bat an eyelash before landing en masse in my tree and stripping it of the berries. While the product looks pretty in the winter when all the leaves are off the tree, by midsummer most of them are now littering the ground around the tree as the attached stretchy-band connectors have almost all failed. Buy these as a pretty decoration perhaps, and throw away the line they come with to replace with some other option for connecting to the branches. I'm sure your birds will also appreciate how you've spruced the place up for them.

The wind blows the and they bang against the house which make noise 24/7 maybe even more then the woodpeckers. Product doesn’t work either, it is just useless plastic that now hangs on the roof. Seller refused to process a refund.

I have quite a windy balcony and these babies not only spin but they ding on my glass panels which they birds don't like at all. Great product. No birds since installed. The are a lot more rigid than I thought. Well done
